Whats happened to them? People just dont eat em like 723-385- 3 they used to. Of course that their first cousins, includes relishes and chili sauce too. Stringham, 735 North Main, hosted a reception at the Artistic Manor. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Della W. Clark, 1954 Stephens, Ogden, and the late LeRoy R. Clark. For her wedding and reception, the bride chose a gown of soft chiffon over satin styled with a fitted bodice with full sheer and sleeves caught to a cuff of scalloped lace. Her floorlength veil of illusion was edged with matching lace, and she carried a bouquet of white roses and babys breath. Attending the bride were Miss Becky Wilcox, Mrs. Daniel Bush, Miss Kay Stringham and Miss Susan Humphfrey. Little Edith Bush was flower girl. The maid of honor's gown was styled of lavender with an empire waistline, and the h bridesmaids wore similarly of deep purple. styled gowns Each carried a single lonestemmed white rose. Best man duties were performed by John Preece. Host and hostess greeting guests at the reception were Mr. and Mrs. John Ramsey. The new Mrs. Clark attended Box Elder High school, and the bridegroom is a graduate of Manti High school. Following a wedding trip the newlyweds will reside in Ogden. RECENT BRIDE Miss Diane Stringham became the bride of Lee Rodrick Clark in a ceremony performed Sept, 2 in the Artistic Manor. Brigham City chapter of Utah Homemakers Young association will hold its first meeting of the season on Monday, Sept. 18, at 1 :30 p.m. at Box Elder North stake center. Guest speaker for the afternoon meeting will be Lewis Jones of Box Elder High school, who will talk on the topic ' Motivation." Teacher Jones has been involved in teaching personal motivation classes and working in special programs of this nature. S. - Mrs. William Jasper Rudd of Plymouth will celebrate her 80th on birthday Sept. 18 at a family dinner party. County Woman To Be Feted On Birthday Mrs. William Jasper Rudd, one of Plymouths senior citizens, will celebrate her 80th birthday on Sept. 18. She will be honored at a family dinner party at the home of her son and daughter-in-laMr. and Mrs. Clifford Rudd in Layton on Sunday. Mrs. Rudd, the former Ethel Vilate Nish was born Sept. 18, 1892 in Plymouth, a daughter of Thomas John and Sarah Ann Tims Nish. She received her education in Plymouth. On Oct. 18, 1911 she became the bride of William Jasper Rudd in Brigham City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS temple. They have made their permanent home in Plymouth. As a younger woman Mrs. Rudd will be remembered for her harmpnica playing. She also was known for her ;; as a young girl. ' Was Active in Gardner, Kathy Hill, Mary Hamblin and Joan Kimber. There will be a nursery available for small children during the meeting time. All women in the community who are interested in memin the Young bership Homemakers association or in the speakers topic are extended an invitation to attend the event. BIRTHDAY Harris, Phoenix, Ariz. Postmaster church work she was a teacher in Religion Class, served as Primary organist, was active in dramatics. She served as postmaster in Plymouth along with her husband. She and her husband also operated a Plymouth grocery store. They served on the Old Folks committee for many years. Mrs. Rudd is a Gold Star mother. Last October Mr. and Mrs. Rudd were honored by their family at an open house on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary. . Never idle, Mrs. Rudd has made many beautiful quilts for her children, grandchildren and close friends. In later years Mr. Rudd assists his wife in marking the quilts. They are parents of eight children, five are living: Rulon Rudd and Mrs. Earl (Grace) Pierson of Plymouth, Clifford Rudd of Layton, Mrs. Ralph (Marie) Harris of Ogden, Mrs. Edward Ray (Marlene Ann) Pingle of Salt Lake City. There are 21 grandchildren and 31 great, grandchildren. Had a chance to find out what their family is doing now, and thought friends may be interested. Their youngest daughter Nancy is now Mrs. John Macanec and lives in Normandy, Mo. not far from Florissant where the Shields make their home. She is working on her Masters Degree and is an assistant teacher in sociology at the University of Their Missouri. daughter LaNae is Mrs. Gary Mosey Berkeley, and has Mo. of a Scott Shields isnt married yet and lives in Huntington Park, Calif, where he is employed. Shields told me that he is retired from federal service after 30 years as a civilian employee with the U.S. Army. daughter Lisa 4. Files East Mrs. Blaine Olsen and daughter Karen flew to Philadelphia where Karen attended a seminar in connection with her position with the Retired Teacher's association in Salt Lake City. Following the seminar they went to Washington D.C. where they spent two days sightseeing before returning home. Karen is also attending night school at BYU. Visiting at the Blaine Olsens Baby Arrives Mr. and Mrs. Wynn Parker of Harper are up in the clouds over the arrival of their baby son on Sept. 7. He will be named Matthew Dean. Other children in the Parker family are Bryan, Daniece, Stacy and Theresa. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. P.R. Parker of this city and Mrs. Rhoda Wiegman of Tucson, Ariz. Mrs. Wiegman arrived Sunday to spend a week here with the Parkers. Briefing You Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Gray of Lehi spent Saturday with their Mr. son and daughter-in-laand Mrs. Earl Gray. They just had to come and share the excitement at the Gray home. You see, their granddaughter Pam was chosen second attendant to the Peach Queen. Mr. and Mrs. Horace A. Lish of Modesto, Calif, are visiting in Utah for three weeks. They spent some time in Deweyviile with a son Horace A. Lish, Jr. and are dividing their time between a daughter Mrs. Irene Hess and son and daughter-in-laMr. and Mrs. Elmo Lish in this city. Following their stay here they will visit another Mr. daughter and and Mrs. Geo. R. Smith in Sunset. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Stokes took time out from a busy schedule and took their daughter Mrs. Dee Bankhead and her children Michele, Brent and Mary Lee back to their home in St. Louis, Mo. She had been in Utah visiting since midsummer and stayed to be on hand for her sisters wedding son-in-la- w Sept. 1. Book Lore Club Enjoys Review Book Lore club met at the home of Doris Byington for their September meeting and election of new officers for the coming season. Evelyn Daines gave a review of the book Jennie by Ralph G. Martier. This book is (he biography of the mother of Winston Churchill, and was very interesting to the members. New officers elected were Velda Palmer as president and Ethel Poulter as secretary. A vote of thanks was taken for retiring officers Lola Nielson and Phyllis Owen. Plans were discussed for the coming year, and the hostess served tasty refreshments to 17 club members present for the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Vernal Willie will be on Sunday, Sept. 17, at the house an at honored open Artistic Manor in observance of their golden wedding anniversary. ANNIVERSARY Open House to Honor Couple on Anniversary The children of Vernal Willie and Dorothy B. Willie are holding an open house in honor of their parents fiftieth wedding anniversary at the Artistic Manor, 15 South First East, Brigham City, Sunday2 af- 5 to ternoon, Sept. 17, from p.m. Friends and associates are invited to attend. They were married in the Logan LDS temple, Sept. 20, 1922. They resided in Logan, Utah and Lyman, Wyo., before moving to Brigham City in 1930 where Willie taught at the Box Elder high school. He later worked with the U.S. Farm Credit Administration, and the Federal Land bank. He later served with the Utah State University Extension service, and then as Director of Continuing Education for the Box Elder county school district. Active in Church They have both been active in church service, Willie having served in the superintendency of Stake Sunday schools and on the High Council of the Box Elder stake. He later served in the bishopric of the Fourth ward, then as first counselor in the North Box Elder Stake presidency, and then as the stake president. Mrs. Willie has served in various capacities in the Relief society, and has been active in local and county Daughter of Utah Pioneers organizations. Their children are; Dr, Ralph. G. Willie, Federal Way, Wash.; John C. Willie, St. George, Louise Wagstaff, Kamas; Norma Jean Ross, Roy; and Elaine Melcomian, Salt Lake City. They have 21 children, and one great Honors Couple After Nuptials A lovely garden party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Basil Fife recently, given by Mrs. Vern (Adele) Hanson in honor of her daughter DLora and Gregory Dalton. The couple traded wedding vows in the Salt Lake LDS temple on Friday, Sept. 8, with the ceremony performed by the brides uncle, Benjamin Bowring. The newlyweds left immediately after the garden party to make their home in Houston, Texas. son-in-la- Its Its Coming! Coming! Dee Capelle presented the devotional and the group discussed women as witnesses in their current look at womens liberation in a Biblical perspective. Afternoon circle will meet on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 1 p.m. at the home of Eula Loomis, and will be a potluck luncheon. All women of the church are invited.
