Show 2 JOURNAL, Brigham City. Utah Thursday, September 14, 1972 BOX ELDER 'BACK Letters to the Editor,.. Thanks for Help 50 Editor, behalf of the Ladies Community club of Brigham City, I would certainly like to express my thanks to the many, many people who helped make our junior peach parade a success. I would like to thank our parade committee publicity for their support and willingness to help, also all other club members who helped when called upon. I express much sincere thanks to the Chamber of Commerce, and their secretary, Mrs. Francell Bowman, who were of great help in every way possible; without them our parade could not have been what it was. The deserves a special thanks for the effective and efficient manner in which they handled the publicity, especially Sarah Yates who worked directly with the parade committee. The Merchants committee deserve a big thank you; many of you perhaps did not realize that they supplied the sound system for announcing the parade. Denton Beecher did a fine job in announcing the parade and we thank him for his effort. The police and fire departments always have our thanks for the service they do everyday, not only al on holidays. thank the judges who made the best of an almost impossible job, since all entries were so good. Last, but not least, we thank the children and their parents for supporting the parade. It is a joy to see the happiness on their faces. Thanks again to everyone; if I have overlooked someone, I am very sorry. We out-of-to- Sincerely, Evelyn Larsen, Chairman, Junior parade Who Helped Them? Editor, . The yeild this season is one of the largest in many years and the quality is fully up to the standard. Only four other cities exceed this in population. Some 901,782 of the amount were on dependent children program with a breakdown of 47 percent black, 40 percent Puerto Rican, and 13 percent white. While welfare increases, so to does deterioration of cities with its blight, crime, rape, etc. Cities cannot absorb mass influx of welfare recepients, neither can taxpayers, since one need only look around him to see its results. Alaska, with its rich soil, remains undeveloped while government continues to spend billions to condone idleness, instead of relocating welfare people to a place of productivity like Alaska. Today, with welfare increasing while emdue to imports and ployment automation, we see our dollar shrinking at home and abroad. With trade deficit increasing, our national debt is at a new high. One wonders who long our dollar will stand inflation, before it follows the German mark? is declining E. A. Berberich, 115 E. These adult locust bettles are in the process of laying eggs in the cracks and crevices of the locust trees in the Brigham City area this week. The eggs will hatch in about two weeks and the larvae will start to work their way into the inner bark of the tree where JoD Opens at 7:30 Cartoon - 8:04 A 11 :30 Prime Cut -- 8:10 A 11:36 Dead Are Alive 10:47 Tbtrek noplacetohidsnhsa THE DEAD ARE ALIVE Ain CORD ginAHTHA E3BAnH r.
