Show I 18 BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah Thursday, September 7, 1972 T Obituaries J Bornico May Smith Petorson Mr. Bernice May Smith Peterson, 68, of Garland East, formerly of Brigham City, died Sept. 4 at the McKay Dee hospital in Ogden, of cancer. She was born Dec. 17, 1903, in Salt Lake City. She was the daughter of James Francis and Ruth Barber Smith. She was reared and educated in Brigham City before moving to Garland. She married Dewey James Hansen, May 11, 1921. Hansen died in 1925. She later married Frederick Willard Peterson, July 22, 1928 in Brigham City. Peterson died May 5, 1967. She was a nurse and had been employed at the Valley hospital in Tremonton for 26 years. She was a member of the Garland East LDS ward and had been serving as a Relief society teacher and a visiting teacher. She had served in the past as an MIA teacher and a Primary secretary. Survivors include four sons and four daughters: Darrel D. Hansen, Salt Lake City; Jerry F. Peterson, Truckee, Calif.; Larry Peterson, Garland East; Rodney Peterson, Garland; Mrs. Mitchell (Beverly) Hess, Plymouth; Mrs. Oran (Pauline) Heaton, Tacoma, Wash.; Mrs. Robert (Janice) Schramm, Van Nyes, Calif.; and Mrs. Gary (Tamra) Hall, Brigham City; 21 grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. Also surviving are one brother and three sisters: Kenneth Smith, Kaysville; Mrs. Horton (Stella) Hess, Centerville; Mrs. Asel (Cora) Robinette, Brigham City. Rowena Irving Mumford Mrs. Rowena Irving Mum-for76, died Monday, Sept. 4, at the Godfrey Nursing home. Mrs. Mumford had been a resident of Brigham City for two years. She was born May 14, 1896 in Chester, Sanpete county, the daughter of Moroni Leonard and Sarah Irving, i .; She married t Robert Gunn Mumford in 1935. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS temple. He died in 1968. She taught school in Washington county. She was a member of the Hurricane LDS ward. She had been a Primary teacher and a secretary and teacher in the Hurricane ward Relief society. Surviving are two sons and one daughter: Irving Mumford, Brigham City; Ron Mumford, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Dahl (Sadie Rae) Humphries, Las and Vegas; and two step-son- s three Robert C. Mumford, Cedar City; Chester C. Mumford, Parawan; Mrs. Roy Easton, Caliente, Nev.; Mrs. Irene Griffith, Calif, and Mrs. Margaret Chessom, Las Vegas. Mrs. Mumford had nine grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother and one sister: Jay Irving; and Mrs. Stanley (Jesse) Justesen both of Chester. Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 8, in the North Zion stake center at Hurricane, Utah. Friends may call at the stake center from 11:30 a.m. until the services start. The services are under the direction of the Peterson Funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Cedar City cemetery. Bottle Hunters Slate Antique Show Are you ever down in the dumps on the weekend? The members of the UABC (Utah Antique Bottle Club) are down In the dumps every weekend. That is, they are in the old garbage dumps of some of the local ghost towns digging antique bottles and other relics. Come and see their finds at the 6th annual Bottle, Insulator and Relic Show and Sale at the Bountiful National Guard Armory, Sept. 9 - 10. This once a year for Utah Bottle Diggers and Antique Collectors of all kinds will also include their counterparts from Nevada, Idaho, Colorado, and other parts of the United States, who come to see the displays and buy or swap bottles and other antiques. Many of the relics will date much over 100 years and are sentimental reminders of the early pioneers who opened up er Utah and the Western states. It is expected that there will be over 25 displays to be judged, and over 30 tables will feature bottles, insulators and other antique relics for sale. According to the president, Ben Constantino, admission will be free; however, a donation is accepted, which will give the donor an opportunity to take home a lucky bottle worth over $5, which will be given away every hour. There will also be grab bags at $1 each, in addition to the above mentioned sales tables. The public is invited to come and join the members of the UABC celebrate its 6th annual "Old Bottle Show, Sept. 9 - 10 at the Bountiful National Guard Armory.
