Show BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, 18 Utah ft? 6 Thursday, July 13, 1972 Parry Pulto wowa Local Scouts At a recent boy icout Court of Honor for Perry troop 110 the following boy were presented their awards: , Kelly Nelson received seven merit badges in swimming, public speaking, cooking, reading, safety, basketry, and personal fitness. Mike Nelson received his first aid, horcooking, semanship, and firemanship merit badges, and Kenneth Bradbury, first aid, leather-wor- k, sculpture and pottery. Ninety percent attendance pins were presented to Reese Nelson, four years; Ronald Higgs, three years; Kenneth Bradbury, Robert Garver, Mike Nelson, and Kelly Nelson, two years; Albert Bradshaw, Jeff Bradshaw, Kyle Greenhalgh, Weldon Jenks, Blake Young, Brett Mace, and Deven Anderson, one year. Kelly Nelson and Mike Nelson were presented the Bronze award in the troop incentive program. This is for their attendance, activity, and rank advancements. A number of young boys and girls and their leaders were among those from the Box Elder South LDS stake that participated in a youth conference held at the Brigham Young university in Provo during the weekend of June 29, 30 and July 1 and 2. Local Youths Those attending from the Perry ward were Reese Nelson, Bruce Christensen, Barry Reeder, Brian Young, Kelvin Bodily, Malea Garver, Kristine Wight, Diane Reeder, Susan Valcarce, Annette Wright, Mary Valcarce, Laurie Wright, Jackie Wright, Mitzi Nelson, and Julie Wheeler. They were accompanied by leaders, Mrs. Janis Thorne and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Reeder. Those attending from the Perry Second ward were Paula Krambule, Tinna Gibbs, Debbie Nelson, Jjilie Hirschi, Joleen Reese, Corey Dinsdale, Steven Weight, and Terry Weight. They were accompanied by Mrs. Darlene Krambule. While there the youth enjoyed the . many special activities planned for them including a midnight swim, a Hawaiian dinner, a four stake dance, pillow fight and workshops. Four young girls from Perry had the opportunity of singing at LDS June conference June 23 and 24. Tina Gibbs and Cheryl Hirschi of the Perry second ward and Teresa Young and Elaine Smith of the Perry ward sang with other youth from the area and presented the music for the production. Richard and Kathleen Wight are enjoying the newest member of their family. A new little son born to them on June 22 in the Brigham hospital. This makes number three, three boys. He weighed seven pounds and five ounces and they have chosen the name of Thomas He was Fernon Wight. welcomed home by older brothers, Douglas and David. Sharing the honors of grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Edgar L. Wight and Mrs. Richard Hansen of Brigham City. Russell Rasmussen and sons Kurt and Eric and George Sevy and son David and Tom Dinsdale enjoyed a recent weekend fishing in Yellowstone. Robert Lund spent the weekend of July fourth floating down the Salmon river with a group from Thiokol. Taking the opportunity of a four day weekend to enjoy some fishing and relaxing over the fourth were Mr. and Mrs. Max Nelson and Reese, Kelly, Carolyn and Peggy, Mr. and Mrs. Deraid Waters, Lisa, Pam and Raquel all of Perry and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bailey, Jim, Howard, and John and Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Bott of Corinne. They enjoyed a very successful fishing outing in Blacksmith Fork. Fish Fry The Waters, Baileys, and Botts then joined the Nelsons at their home on Monday evening for a barbequed fish fry. They also took this opportunity to celebrate Raquel Waters third birthday. The Joe Sebek home has been a very busy place this past month with company coming and going. Mrs. Amaile Cech and daughter Mrs. Shirley Cernin of Schuyler, Neb. spent four days with them. While here the Sebeks and visitors enjoyed a cook out at the home of Mr. and Mrs. DeLoy Nielsen of Ogden. They were then joined by Shirleys husband Emerson Cernin and they returned to Nebraska. Other visitors included Joes sister, Mildred and Huch Limback of Howes, Neb. and Joes brother, Lambert and Janis Machalek and children, Russ, Todd and Cindy from Seward, Neb. They stopped off in Perry to ag OSSBKN Gain Awards By Mrs. Max Nelson anas TAMS Sa visit the Sebeks for four days on their return from California. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Devern Bradshaw this past two weeks have been Odis and Shirley Dart and children of Evansville, Ind. Mrs. Dart and Claudine are sisters. While here they enjoyed outings which included fishing trips and visiting different tourist spots in the area. They also visited with her anaD QsseIII? Reed and Marilyn Walker and home children, returned Wednesday afternoon after an eventful weeks vacation which took them to Canada for a family reunion. They left last Thursday stopping off in Idaho Fails and camping out. They then traveled to Raymond, Canada for the reunion. They also attended the rodeo and parade held in the community. They returned home by way of Yellowstone National park arriving home on Wednesday. Mrs. Anne Rasmussen, director of the play Cheaper by the Dozen which will be produced by the Perry second ward for a building fund project has announced the members of her cast. Neii Anderson will be the assistant director and stage manager; Wendell Calj will do the set design and be technical director; Liz Matthews will do costumes and Julie Maddox, properties. This production will be presented on Sept. 14 and they are now holding practices every Tuesday and Wednesday evening. . Mrs. Lois Thorne enjoyed a delightful 18 days vacationing through northeastern area of the United States. She with her niece Kay Reeve, and a friend Jana Cox traveled to Saginaw, Michigan. From there she traveled on to Carlisle, Pa. She visited at the home of her brother, John and Beverly Reeves and their five children. While a guest at the home of her brother John they attended church in Harrisburg just a few days before the floods. John is a Lt. Colonel in the Army. He will now go to Huntsville, Ala. this fall for his new assignment. Other tourist spots visited while there were Gettysburg and the beautiful farmland in the area. Lois then went back to Saginaw, Mich, where she visited with her brothers and their families, Hal and Connie Reeves and family and Perc and Verda Reese. Shortly after her arrival there her son Doyle flew in for a days visit while on business in the area. Doyle and his family now live in Tulsa, Okla. So this made quite a family reunion. a She also attended missionary farewell for her nephew who is leaving for a mission to France. Lois also had the opportunm of visiting cherry orchard-- . ,n Travis City and Benton Harbor where she reports they are enjoying a full crop of cherries this year. On her return home she was accompanied by her sister in law, Connie Reeves and her daughter in law, Penny Reeves and son Johnny. SIZE 0 Get Well Wishes Special get well wishes go to Mrs. Vera Larsen who has recently been hospitalized. We are glad to report she is now at home. Kathy and Terry Jones just returned from a fun week which took them to Washington and deep sea fishing. They left Perry on July 1 and traveled first to Glacier National park and then on to Cooley City, Wash, where they were joined by Kathys aunt, Mrs. Hazel Pile. They then traveled to Westport, Wash, where they spent two days on a chartered boat. They reported catching salmon and sea bass. They then returned home on July 7 after a delightful trip.
