Show t Local Couple Is Wed BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah 1972 Thursday, July 13, Impressive rites performed in the Ogden LDS temple on June Ann 24 united Miss Sherri Sherratt and Bruce Wade Merrell in marriage, with the by ceremony performed Couple Trades Vows Early summer rites in the Logan LDS temple united Miss President Parents Zundel. of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Sherratt, Jr., while the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Merrell, all of Brigham City. A wedding dinner honored the Ten Jean Walker and Kenneth G. Tuttle in marriage, with the couple honored at a reception the following evening in the Brigham City Eighth LDS ward. The bride was gowned in a bridal creation of polyester crepe styled with lace down thebodiceand matched on the sleeves and high neckline, with the gown enhanced by a full length veil. She carried a bouquet of roses carnations and mums in cascade style. Attending the bride were Mrs. Karen Hills, Mrs. Marilee Wilson, Miss Peggy Tuttle, Miss Janae Walker and Miss Brenda h Tuttle. They wore dresses of pink polyester dotted swiss and carried dainty cascades of daisies and baby breath. couple and wedding party at the Brigham City Golf and Country club, and they greeted guests that evening at the Intermountain LDS Indian chapel in Brigham City. Brides Ensemble The bride chose a gown of nylon organza over taffeta with pencil pleats at the bodice and over the shoulder and to the elbow where a full bishop sleeve joined with embroidered lace and seed pearls ended in a cuff. The wide skirt adorned with lace and seed pearls tapered into a chapel train. Her sheer veil fell to elbow length from a crown of lace flowers and pearls. A bouquet of yellow roses, orange mums and stephanotis completed the bridal ensemble. Maid of honor was Deborah Sherratt and bridesmaids were Kathy Cochran, Noreen John and Kathleen Sherratt. They were dressed in identical floor length gowns of nylon organdy of yellow and orange floral design. Each wore a yellow summer hat with an orange flower at the side and carried a bouquet of yellow mums. h full-lengt- lace-trimm- A-li- BARBARA NEBEKER Couple Circles Date For August Wedding Mr. and Mrs. Byron P. Nebeker of Willard announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Barbara, to Lorin R. Stowell, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Kay Stowell, North Ogden. Miss hlebeker is a graduate of Box Elder High school and LDS Seminary. She attended Stevens-Henage- r college and is now employed at Ogden Defense Depot. Prospective bridegroom Stowell is a graduate of Weber High school and LDS Seminary and has fulfilled a mission for the LDS church in France. He is now attending Weber State college. The couple will be married on Aug. 25 in the Salt Lake LDS temple and will be honored at a wedding reception that evening in the Willard LDS cultural hall. Following their marriage the couple will reside in North Ogden. They Were There Local Residents Safe In. Midst of Floods .... At least two Brigham City families watched the news of the Harrisburg, Pa., flood with more than average concern, for each family had a young person working and living in the historic old city as the floor waters rose and gutted downtown and residential areas. Kim Anderson, daughter of Mrs. Steve Anderson, was living in the basement apartment of the home of the LDS stake president located on the bank of the Susquehanna River. Taking heed of the flood warnings, the moved many family possessions but Miss Andersons apartment was flooded and water reached a depth of Dne foot in the familys living room. On the other side of the Susquehanna River, Tom Burridge, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Burridge of Brigham City, was more lucky since his apartment was located on the third floor of a building set upon a hill. He managed to take some spectacular pictures of the flood right from his apartment and from the tops of downtown city buildings as the waters crested. Her family reports that she will arrive home this week since the market for sales is not good following such a disaster. The Burridge family reports that their son will probably be to another transferred territory, and that he had been on the job only slightly longer than Miss Anderson. A call from Burridge to his parents reported disruption of power, telephone and postal services on the evening of the flood. Sirens rang constantly for days as fires and ambulances were sumn oned, and curfews were set to keep people off the streets of the stricken city. Following a honeymoon trip to Las Vegas and Southern California, the young couple is residing in Brigham City. RECENTLY WED Stork Bulletin Booklore Club Member of the Book Lore club entertained their partners at the annual summer social held July 6 at the Rees Pioneer Park bowery. Following the party theme "Back in the Twenties," the guests were dressed in aprons and overalls and brought box lunches to be exchanged. Prizes were awarded for the most unusual trim on the decorated box lunches. e A delightful radio program was under the direction of Beth Baird, who gave news flashes as she anold-tim- nounced the various radio performers from the era. Club officers Lola Neilson and Phyllis K. Owen planned the annual event. Open House Honors Nonagenarian An open house will be held on Sunday, July 16,' in honor of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Bet-teridg- e, who is celebrating her 90th birthday anniversary. The event will be in her home at 2914 Jackson Avenue in Ogden, from p.m. Mrs. Betteridge was born to John and Mary Shaw Hadfield on July 18, 1882 in Glossop, Derbyshire, England. She married William Cotton Betteridge in the Salt Lake Temple on October 3, 1902. Sons and daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Betteridge are Hilda 2-- 4 Ruby, deceased; Mrs. Mary Ellen Tanner of Grouse Creek; Doris . Hadfield Flinders, , Therma Files, Wilma Little all of Ogden, Kenneth Betteridge, Clara Calif; Anaheim, Wheelwright of Cedar City and Betty Treseder of Ogden. Mr. Betteridge died on Oct. 12, 1966. Mrs. Betteridge has 30 grandchildren, 65 great Received by Grandparents An early morning stork bulletin was received with delight at the homes of Mr. and Greeting guests in the reception line were the parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Leo A. Walker of Brigham City, and the parents of the bridegroom, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence E. Tuttle of Idaho Falls, in addition to the other attendants. Best man was Brent Stoker with Rick Walker and Lloyd Perry as ushers. The wedding line stood before a curtain backdrop edged with floral bouquets and garden rosebushes about the reception room. Serving tables were covered with pink lace cloths and centered with small vases of daisies and baby breath. The little miss was born to Mr. and Mrs. Clark Baron on y Wednesday, July 12, in the hospital in Ogden. Mom is the former Joyce Payne, who graduated from Weber State College in June and has been busy making preparations for the new arrival since that time. As yet, a final decision on a name for the seven pound and five ounce new arrival had not been made, but the Rex Barons are particularly delighted to have their first grandchild be a little girl since she is the first girl in their family. Several are waiting to greet the new arrival including Mr. and Mrs. E.S. Roundy of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Petersen and Mrs. Phyllis Baron of Brigham City, and Phillip Bott of Brigham City.
