Utah-Colora- a 10, 1963 Perry Man Man Jan. 5 David Crockett Watkins, 64, former school teacher and Roosevelt civic leader, died of causes Saturday natural at 3:40 a. m. in a Salt Lake hospital. A former resident of Brigham City, Mr. Watkins had taught school for 15 years in DuIron, Granite, Jordan, chesne and San Juan districts. He was a bookkeeper for the Gas Co. in Roosevelt at the time of his death. He had been a member of the Roosevelt Kiwanis club and was chairman of the Republican party of Duchesne county. HE WAS a veteran of World War I, and had been a scout executive in Pocatello, Idaho and Eureka, Calif. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he had served in the bishopric of the Milford LDS ward in Beaver county. Mr. Watkins was born March 19,1898 in Beaver Dam, Box Elder county, a son of Joseph Hammond and Lydie Ella Hancock Watkins. He was reared and educated in Beaver Dam and Brigham City and attended Utah State University and Brigham Young University. On Dec. 28, 1940, he married Ella Sagers in Washington, D. C. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS temple. January Thursday, af- Idaho Man Dies Tuesday Funeral services were held Saturday at Elba, Idaho, lor Ehhu U. He was born April 21, 1883, at Elba. He married Ella Hoagland on Nov. 19, 1908, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. He had been a member of the Elba LDS ward bishopric for 24 years, having served 14 years as bishop. Survivors include his widow; four sons and one daughter, Or-vE. Beecher, and Max Beecher, both of Elba; Calvin BeechDick H. Beecher, Bountiful; er, Concord, Calif.; Mrs. Edith Johnson, Salt Lake City; a brother, Ransom Beecher, of 18 Brigham City; grandchil dren.
