Utahs general fishing season was set to open June 6 and extended through Nov. 30. This is two weeks longer than in. 1958. The cheese dunkeis wall be happy to hear that under the revised rules governing bait, anything may be used . . . except game fish or pails thereof and live fish. In addition, the commission eliminated the old regulation which banned the use of floating craft on many Utah lakes including those in the high Uintas. Hours Are Same Hours of fishing are to remain the same as last year, from 4 a. m. to 9 p. m. Bag and possession limits are the same with the exception that bass and pike limits will be 10 fish and-o- r 15 pounds and one fish. The term single hook was clarified by the commission. Multiple prongs attached to a single shaft will be defined as a single hook. Of special significance was the revised ruling on use of floating craft without motors. During the coming season, they will be allowed on all Utah lakes and impoundments with the following exceptions: Impoundments on the Logan and Blacksmith Fork rivers, Hades Creek Reservoir in Duchesne county. Ballard Springs in Cache county, Wellsville Reservoir in Cache county, Locomotive Springs, Honeyville Ponds and Mantua Reservoir in Box Elder county, Gittens Springs and Chambers Springs in Cache County, Little Creek Reservoir, Silver Lake in Salt Lake County, Payson Lakes, Spring Lakes, Silver Lake m Utah county, Pittsburgh Lake and Witts Lake. Closed Water Changes Some changes were made in waters closed to fishing. Anderson Meadows m Beaver county will be closed (this is a new construction project) and Scofield Reservoir and all tributaries will be closed (treated for trash fish this year). Woodruff Creek m Rich coun ty will remain closed from High way No. 3 upstream to a point known as Red Rocks and the Birch Creek drainage of Woodruff Creek also will be closed with exception of Allen Canyon creek. Biggest additions to the list of year around fishing waters were Pineview Reservoir on the Ogden River drainage and Navajo Lake in Kane county.
