One involving a Layton man and the other resulting from a minor accident in Davis County. high-spee- ALAN B. Nance, 19, of 51 Phillips St., Layton, was arrested and arraigned in Ogden City Court on charges of exhibition of speed and evading police. Young Nance and his passenger, Kent G. Fowler, 19, of 1177 E. 1100 South, Clearfield, suffered only bruises and abrasions when their auto rammed a police raodblock near 3000 North on Interstate 15, Ogden. ACCORDING to Ogden police, the chase started at 29th and Washington Boulevard about 11 p.m. when Patrolman Mike Stever gave chase of an auto believed to be drag racing. He said he chased the fleeand north on ing auto to the interstate. Utah Highway ,Patrol cars also joined the chase as more assistance was sought. OFFICER Stever said he chased the car at 110 miles per hour north on the interstate. North Ogden and Pleasant View police officers said they heard the call for assistance and rushed to the interstate to set up a road block. Kenneth Page and his new bride will make their home in Alabama where he will be stationed at Fort Rucker Air Force Base and flying helicopters. Mrs. Elsie (Jonnie) Campbell returned home from a h stay in the southern states. She visited in Houston, Texas with a sister, Mrs. Edith Slough and also at Burningham, Alabama with her mother, Mrs. Bell Bishops and her other sisters in that area. Her sister, Mrs. Slough from Houston, Texas, accompanied her home and will be visiting with Mrs. Campbell and her husband Keith. Fifteen girls from the Kaysville Second LDS Ward are spending a week at girls camp at Camp Smith Moorehouse in the Uintas. They left Tuesday and will return home Saturday. Barbara Haller and L. Dee Marshall accompanied the girls on the trip. Lynn Thorne underwent major surgery at the McKay Hospital last week. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dewayne Thorne visited with him during his illness. Clearfield Company Planning To Rebuild Clearfield Manufacturing which was damaged in a fire last week, will be rebuilt, according to plant owners. Company, THEY SAID the fire apparently was caused by a malfunction in an electrical box. Clearfield Fire Chief Elmo Hodson said about 20 men and three units responded to the blaze Wednesday evening and were able to save a portion of the building. HE SAID the fire was reported burning in the northwest corner of the structure at 350 South Main. Firemen had the blaze under control in about 45 minutes but much of the roof and interior of the building were destroyed or heavily damaged.
