Show A3 Wednesday, November 19, 2003 Vernal Express Basin Wide Calling goes into effect Basin Wide Calling or EAS became effective Sunday, Nov. 16, just after midnight. The service now means that t'BTA-UBE- T landline customers will no longer pay long distance charges when making a call within the Uintah Basin. Local prefixes will now include 247, 353, 454, 545, 548, 622, 646, 722, 725, 738, 781, 789, and 848. Local cellular prefixes 823, 828, 822, 790, 724, 722, and 733 will also be a local call from a UBTA-UBElandline. EAS will not affect cellular-t- o cellular or calls. UBTA-UBEcustomers will no longer need to dial the area code when calling any UBTA-UBEexchange, as long as they are placing the call from within the Uintah Basin. Therefore, if you have a PBX, key system or features such gs speed dialing or call forwarding that are programmed to dial a number automatically, you will need to reprogram any local numbers to y seven digits. There will be a grace period after Nov. 16 to reprogram any local numbers.
