Andrea Mor- d With inflation as it is, the longer we delay the greater the cost will be, and to meet prescribed Editor: a consequence of the findings of the citizens select committee organized to study the best approach to bringing our schools up toe recommended standards at the best dollar value to the taxpayers, we would like to make a few observations and express our feelings. Certainly the property tax reevaluation is going to take place, new schools or not. The expense of bringing the present structures up to standards is almost that for the new high school and we would still have one old" school, admittedly improved, but still old and with no room for expansion. There are compelling reasons, too, for separating the lower grades from the high school grades. The recommendations would effectively divide the grades and schools while at the same time saving considerable sums by making common use of some facilities and easing future burdens on the present elementary school. Our school has served us well and still offers good education to our children, but we must move forward in our educational pursuits or stagnate. Those present were Gae Sperry, Beth Sperry, Nadine Blackett, Emalie Jones, Anita Oliver, Evelyn Bosh, Phyllis Ingram, Linda Whittington, Shirleen Newell, and Karen Wright. standards, new construction is inevitable, sooner or later. With these considerations in mind and realizing that our greatest resource is a citizenry, we are supporting the school bond election and urge all taxpayers to cond sider it carefully, become fully informed, and then vote for the bonding program. Nelson A. Carter Lynn L. Wright Editor: It seems we are in the midst of a property tax hike, a revaluation for 1976. The School Board seems to view this three and one-hamillion as a necessity. As you probably remember, the fire underwriters condemed the old central school 15 years ago, but it is still in use today. My suggestion is instead of a property tax increase, let Juab County increase the Sales tax by ' which has proven to be an equal tax. I urge you to vote NO on the bonding issue. lf " M T,9 ,i needs.
