Show Nursing Home Notes Louise Black Great musical talent was displayed in the program presented by the Monticello High School Pop Choir under direction of James the Muhlestein. The program included a variety of songs by the choir group; vocal solos by Michelle Peterson and Kirk Hoggard; and duets by Anita Sly and Kirk Hoggard and Michelle Peterson and Marty Rogers. 9 The Monticello senior citizens group presented their monthly program which included a talk by Bill Ernst, the pastor of the community church in Monticello. He and his wife Prices Effective June 5 - fx Jayne also sang a duet. Residents enjoyed the demonstration and display of the magic scissor paper cutting by Ada Rigby. In a very short time she cut a beautiful, woodland scene from a sheet of plain white paper. Jerry Heiner gave a talk on rock painting, his hobby for about 10 years. Our thanks to him for the loan of one of his rock painting pictures to hang at the center. A pet show was held which added enjoyment for those participating as well as the residents in the viewing line. Dogs and cats and a bird or two proved favorite pets for viewing. Reuben Carsons band from Bluff, Chalis, entertained with a variety of country western music and songs, greatly enjoyed by all. SJHS graduate received Dekalb award Erik Grover, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Grover of Blanding was recently named winner of the 1985 Dekalb Agricultural Accomplishment Award. The award, sponsored nationwide by Dekalb Corporation and Dekalb-Pfize- r Genetics, is presented to the senior agriculture and his name will be inscribed on a plaque displayed in the San Juan High B lobby. The Dekalb award, often considered the highest honor a vo-astudent can achieve on the local level, is presented in nearly g student attaining the highest degree of proficiency in scholarship, leadership and supervised agricultural program. Grover attended San Juan High, where he was president and secretary of the local FFA chapter and senior class president. His agricultural program consists of AI of replacement heifers, raising steers and lambs and farm mechanics. Grover plans to attend Snow College and major in agriculture and farm mechanics.
