Mariam took her guests to her ranch where Dick gathered all sorts of rocks to polish and place in settings for sale in his New gift shop in Tucumcari, Mexico. He presented Mariam with a lovely necklace with matching ear rings of his own making. Dr. and Mrs. James Redd are delighted with their new baby daughter who arrived July 20. Blanding senior citizens are badly in need of a new bus with a chair lift. Any seeing the joy a bus ride brings to the face of an elderly shut-i- n would be deeply touched. A new bus would be well worth the price paid for those who are unable to get out of the house without help. After a picnic at the W. C. Lyman Park last Thursday evening, a group of over 50 senior citizens were entertained at a musical program presented by Sylvan Johnson on his guitar and his mother, Ellen Johnson, Mary Ann Jones and Rachel Black on harmonicas. Congratulations to Liddel Roberts Melba Black, and Beth Wright, Senior Citizen officers, for the lovely evening, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Shumway and four younger children recently returned from a vacation ;o Raymond, Alberta, Canada, vhere they visited Mrs. Shumways parents, Mr. and Airs, Lyman Jacobs, and other relatives. Enroute they visited with Dwayne Shumway and family. Clyde and Gloria Jensen oi Mesa were weekend guests at the Leo Black home. Gloria is a native of Blanding and Clyde a native of Monticello. The Jensens were enroute to northern Utah where they will attend Jensen and McAllister reunions. Weekend visitors from Provo were Callie and Jimmy Bronson and Cynthia Blake and baby. Tbe many friends of Susan Butt are happy that she is at home again after her surgery of last week. We hope she has a speedy recovery. Dave and Freeda Guymon are attended the farewell testimonial of their grandson, Kelly Harvey. Kelly, who won high school debating honors, is the son of Dennis and Lorraine Harvey and also a grandson of Charley Harvey of Blanding. Julie Fellmeth of MonticeUo spent Monday in Blanding visiting her mother, Susan Butt. Aunt Alice Shumway, 92, attended the confirmation Sunday of her grandson, Jason Shumway. Aunt Alice lives in her own home and cares for herself. Lacking good eyesight and partially deaf, she still sees the sunny side of life. She has 9 children, 25 grandchildren, grandchildren and 23 great-gre- at She has grandchildren. made scores of quilts and lots of handiwork which she gives to family members. Reverend and Mrs. Roger Stacy and baby have just returned from Mississippi. Seemed like old times to see little puddles of water in the chuck holes along the streets. Hie only thing missing were the toads and frogs croaking. It is sad to have them disappear.
