Tunnel cutback will require Ron Dickemore of the Forest Service met with the Blanding City Council to discuss redesign of the Blanding Tunnel entrance. The City Council revised the Blanding Animal Control Ordin- ance effective thirty days from first posting. An owner of a dog can be cited by city police for a class B or C misdemeanor if his dog is loose or confined without proper licensing. Dwight Laws, assistant city manager, reported there were currently 13 dogs in the pound which is average but the problem is not being alleviated. He noted dog owners have EA been warned, but many have not responded to the law. R is hoped the revision in the ordinance will make the owners more responsible. Howard Randall, Blanding Chamber of Commerce president, presented a calendar for the Chambers 1982 activities. Blanding City resolved to invest $160,000 with earnings to be used to make the $20,000 annual payment to the Water Conservancy District over a forty year period. The San Juan Health Service Board has five immediate goals: the improvement of home 1) health care; 2) expansion of the San Juan Nursing Home to include an emergicare wing; 3) commitment of one county commissioner to the surveillance of all county health care concerns; 4) improved quality of acute, emergency health care at all and long-ter- m county facilities and 5 promotion of a feeling of community ownership for the county hospital situated in Monticello. Bradford stated that decreasing use of the hospital is attributable to various reasons. Although the Intermountain Health Care issue is one factor, Bradford said he felt a recent tendency for county doctors to refer patients to specialists was a contributing factor. Cow killed illegally Deputy Redd Allsop of the San Juan County Sheriffs department is continuing investigation into the illegal slaughter of a cow in Lisbon Valley sometime last Saturday.
