The event will begin at 6 p.m. with games and activities under the direction of Marilyn Palmer. Assigned potluck supper will be served at about 7 p.m. General Chairwoman, LaRue McDaniel, indicates that women in the ward will be receiving invitations this weekend telling them what to bring. Miss Nebeker will conduct a workshop for the seven girls competing for the Miss Blanding title the day of the contest and will also be on hand that night to perform and crown the new queen. Miss Nebeker is a 1972 graduate of Brigham Young University and is currently modeling and making talent presentations for various television commercials in the Salt Lake area. That the school facilities be opened up to provide better teenage recreation when not in use. Questions asked by the audience concerned dress standards at the school, equality of treatment of students, the teen club north of town, quality of books in the school, cigarette vending machines, parental abuse of officers and the curfew. Patrolman Bevin City Wright, in his comments concerning the curfew, stated that by imposing a curfew the number of juveniles on the street would be greatly reduced. He further explained that the last night he had been on duty there were still four kids out at 3:30 a.m. He added that a curfew would also reduce the number of complaints from people who are trying to sleep, bicycle thefts would be reduced (as well as other crimes which usually occur after midnight), it would keep young people out of the company of older ones, would assist in identifying those involved in break-in- s and other crimes and would reduce the number of Indians that just stay the night in town instead of going home. Margaret Redd, one of the instigators of the meeting, stated in her remarks, What is there to do in Blanding after 11:00 p.m., except climb the devils bandwagon."
