Show The Sen Jusn Record FLORENCE Word has been received here by two sets of grandparents of the arrival on July 30th of a 7 lb., 13 oz. baby girl at Fort Riley, Kansas to Boyd and Ramona Bradford. Daddy Boyd is in the service. The proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Barton Lyman and Mr. and Mrs. Cleal Bradford, all of B landing. This is the first child foi Boyd and Ramona and the 12th grandchild for the Lymans and the 2nd grandchild for the Cleal Bradfords. Grandma Lyman left by plane for Kansas on Thursday to be on hand to greet the wee miss and her mother when they came home from Our love and the hospital. best wishes go along with grandma Lyman to the new prophet Joseph Smith was born, and attended the famous L.D.S. Pageant in Palmyra, New York. At the pageant they met Mary Gae Black from Blanding. They attended Stoke Conference at Syracuse and heard president Harold B. Lee speak and conduct the meeting. Mrs. Elnora Nielson just returned from a trip to Mesa, While there she Arizona. went down to Van Nuys, California to attend the wedding of her grandson, Michael Johnson to Miss Gail Otto. Michael is a son of Don and Clara Johnson. Dons wife Clara and family brought Mrs. Nielson home in time to attend the Wright reunion on Saturday. Clara is also visiting her parents, the Clarence Blacks, and other family members in Mon- arrival. Mrs. Bernice Galbraith of Layton, Utah, was in town on Wednesday attending to business matters here. She was a dinner guest of her uncle and aunt, the Doug on Wednesday Galbraiths, and her late She evening. husband Jay were former Photo owners of the Jay-Lystudios in Salt Lake which they sold recently. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Jensen of Mesa, Arizona, were visiting here the first of the week. They were house guests at the Willife Certonios. They were on their way up north to attend the weddings of two of their relatives. Mrs. Jensen Gloria the former is a McAllister and is native of Blanding. Mr. Jensen is a native of Monticello. Mr. and Mrs. Oris Black are happy to receive word that their daughter, Mary Gae, has been called to fill an L.D.S. Mission in Germany. She is to report to the mission home in Salt Lake the middle of September. On July 17th, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Watkins and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Martineau drove to Salt Lake where Mrs. Watkins and Mrs. Martineau boarded a plane and flew to Montreal Canada to meet their sister, Susie Thrower, from Malone, nn New York. In Ottowa, Canada, they went through the House of Commons buildings and sat in the gallery for a session of law-maki- ng French. They are Rose Mar Greathouse and girls, Deanne Hacker and boys, Trudy Nielson and family, Steven and Colleen Burten-shaTerry Burtenshaw and Arthur Burtenshaw. They all visited together before Arthur reports to the Mission Home in Salt Lake this week. He will go to the Hong Kong L.D.S. Mission. They also enjoyed the Hurst reunion on Saturday. They are members of the George Hurst family. and Mr. Mrs. Axcel Melartine have gone to Finland where Mrs. Melartine will be teaching and training for a year. He is a native of Finland, so they plan a w, busy and happy year there. Mrs. Melartine was raised here and is a daughter of the George Hursts, and is the former Rosemond Hurst. The William Hurst family reunion was held at the L.D.S. Cultural August hall on Saturday, The activities 4th. began at gistration. 11 a.m. with re- noon the At Blanding cousins were hosts at a luncheon. After dinner an interesting program was presented by local talent. The program consisted of musical numbers, readings and other entertainment under the direction of the able leadership of Reva Redd. Many family members contributed to help Maw of Ogden finance the expense of continued research and praised Maw on her activity along this line. About 150 people were in attendance at this reunion. They came from as far away as Ogden, Utah, Mesa, Arizona, and from California. For the family it was a very profitable and enjoyable day. Mr. Douglas Cecil Galbraith (Butch) is here from Kearns visiting his grandparents, the Doug Galbraiths. He brought his trumpet so he could show them how he played in his recent tour of Switzerland. Mrs. Nelson Brown of Ogden returned to her home in Ogden on Monday after her weeks visit here with her mother, Mrs. Theressa Redd. Mrs. Ada Rigby and girls went as far as Ogden with her. Mr. Truman Rigby will drive from Logan to Ogden and take his family back to Logan for a week. He has been attending summer school in Logan. They will then return to Blanding. The class of 63 school reunion was held here on Saturday, August 4th. It began at 10 a.m. at the North City Park with games and picnic. Prizes were given to all the children. At 6 to 9 p.m. there was a dinner for the members of the class and their partners at the San Juan High Cafeteria. The dinner was served by Clessa Lyman and Grace Lurlene Palmer Bradford. Gutke was in charge of a short program. The evening ended with and everyone photo -- taking fixing themselves a banana split for dessert. A copy of class history was distributed to each couple present. The committee for the occasion was Mark Lyman, Gretchen Redd Bray, and Dorthea Laws Davis.
