Show "Best Ever Bull Sale for Redd Ranches Redd Ranches Sale was best Bull with 1972 ever, performance rated yearling bulls totaling $94,590, an 98 average of $965. Auctioneers Howard Shults of Denver and Ken Trout of Ermett, Idaho, moved the 98 bulls through the ring in record time. Buyers were eager to get the last sons of Brae Arden 5012 and the golden cross .of Line 1 and Brae Arden cattle. Top price of $3,500 was paid by Hardy Redd, a past owner of Redd Ranches of La Sal, and now owner of La Sal Livestock Co., for son of L1CL3 Domino. Carl Car- penter of Collhran, Colorado, a repeat buyer of top bulls at Redd Ranches, bought the second high bull at $2,400 1;. for a Line bred Brae Arden bull and 565 with weaning, weightday-of-ag- all of gain, indexes e 109. Redd also paid $2,250 for an L1CL3 Comine bull on a Mischief Dam, and $2,000 for line Bred Brae Arden Bull 434. Carpenter again was top bidder on 575, an L1CL3 Comino on an Arden Dam paying $2,000. Against strong competition, carpenter picked up two more bulls at $1,750 and $1,400. A long time buyer of Redd bulls, Carpenters calves topped the Greeley market at 55 last month as they have been topping the market for years. Hardy Redd took seven bulls, averaging $1,889. Preston Nielson, of Bland-in- g, paid $1375 for the youngest one of the highest indexyet ing modern bulls in the sale, double-bre- d Brae Arden 460. Lake Powell Livestock of Blanding was the volume buyer with eight Brae Arden bulls averaging $912. Mrs. Bardwell in turn worked with the Food Science Department at the University to arrange the program. She will be assisted in the workshop by Mrs. Francis Taylor and Mrs. Bonnie Wyse, both professors in the Food Science Department. Mrs. Taylor specializes in quantity food preparation and service; Mrs. Wyse specializes in dietetics. The workshop will be held Thursday and Friday, May 25 and 26, at the San Juan County Hospital.
