American Legion dance The annual Deer Hunters 1. Ball sponsored by Post 42 and Auxiliary ofFerron will be held Oct. 14 at the Legion Hall, 180 North 300 West, Ferron. Doors will open at 7 p.m. Music by Rock Canyon Band will begin at 8 p.m. Cost is $8 per couple or $5 single. Program will include snacks, door prizes and raffle drawings. Proceeds from this fund raising event will go to various Legion and Auxiliary programs including Boys State, Girls State, Sub for Santa, community and county activities, veterans and families support programs,and continued development of the park at the Legion Hall. This week the featured teacher is Brian Dawes. Mr. Dawes was born in Ogden, Utah, where he was destined for fame by being voted "baby with the most hair." He grew up in Houston, Detroit and Salt Lake City where he went to Kearns High School. After graduating, he served a mission for the LDS church. He then went to CEU and SUU where he was a social science composite major. He now teaches health at Emery High. Mr. Dawes is married to Roseanne Dawes, and they have a beautiful daughter, Brinne, who is one year old. Brian was a yell leader in high school, and the drama and debate Sterling Scholar. He likes to play racketball, mountain bike, fish, bowl, eat and play practical jokes. The Third Annual Family Support Conference will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14, 1995, from 9:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the College of Eastern Utah in Price. This conference is sponsored by the Division of Services for People with Disabilities and all families, professionals and other interested individuals are invited to attend. The conference will address the needs of families that care for their children with disabilities in their homes. There is no fee for the conference and a lunch is provided.
