Show Emery County Progress Tuesday, June 2, 1992 9A Graduation program held for Headstart youngsters Roxanne Bohn Headstart historian By the Emery Introducing County Head Start graduating class of 1992: Laramie Begay, Michelle Mitchel, Jonathan Brinkerhoff, Amber Ceal, Amanda Defriez, Jane Heiniger, Larry Joey Hill, Jesse Jensen, Brad Jones, Jeremy Judd, Dell Mikkelsen, Cassie Randall and Ty Silva. The following are undergraduates who will be returning next year: Baylie Bohn, Zachary Jensen, Moriah Mikkelsen and Nicholas Pacheco. The graduation and parent recognition dinner was held on Thursday, May 21, at the Castle Dale Elementary. Sophie Adison (teacher) handed out the diplomas and one-yecertificates, and then the entire class performed the songs Circus Parade and Im A Head Start Kid. The children changed out of their caps and gowns for their perar formance and magically transformed themselves into clowns by putting on noses, bow ties and hats. The children really worked hard to put on a good performance for their parents. I know they did a great job because of all the bright beaming faces on each parents face in the audience. The teachers did an excellent job decorating the elementary cafeteria and preparing the parent recognition dinner. The Head Start staff, consisting of Sophie Adison, teacher; Patty Beagley, teacher aide; Michelle Comet, FRA; Sharon Crandall, cook; and Nancy Jo Justesen, bus driver, were all presented plants for their dedication and effort during the past school year. presentation was made by parent committee officers The Laura Mikkelsen, president, and Jackie Defriez, vice president. We would all like to thank them one more time for their efforts, so, Thanks a lot staff! The staff presented certificates to parents who had helped them out the most during the year. Stephen and Jackie Defriez, Keith Randall, Cassie Jensen, Janna Judd, Laura Mikkelsen, Tracy Randall and Janet Muncy each received certificates of appreciation. The teachers presented Lydia Heiniger a gift certificate and certificate of appreciation because she had volunteered well over 124 hours in the classroom. And Roxanne Bohn was also presented a gift certificate and certificate of appreciation because she had the most mileage donated by driving her daughter to the bus stop daily and driving on field trips. She donated over 7,000 miles. Later, he and his family cut timber on the Boulder Mountain for 25 years After that they were in highway construction for 10 years for Whiting & Hammons Construe tion Co. He is survived by two sons, a daughter and spouses, Maurice and Elizabeth Anderson, Danny and Lorraine Anderson, all Ferron; Marcia Anderson of Price; seven grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; one brother and two sisters, LeCoy Anderson, Helen Harmer; and Grace Anderson. Preceded in death by his wife, Lottie; son, Richard Lee Anderson; parents; sister, Alene; and brothers, Jess and Mack. Joseph spent many years working in Venal and Rock Springs. He was a Army veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and leather work. He is survived by his wife, Granbury, Texas; a brother, Dudley Swasey of Ferron and numerous nieces and nephews.
