Jane Elggren was named to that position last week by Editor Larry W. Davis. Her duties became effective this week, and she is now available to collect and report news of the Castle Dale area. Mrs. Elggren moved to Castle Dale in August with husband Tom, who is a seminary teacher at Emery County High School, and their six children. They had been living in Vancouver, Wash., although both are native Utahns. Mrs. Elggren grew up in Woods Cross and met her husband while both were attending Bountiful High School. A graduate of BYU, Mrs. Elggren has a degree in elementary education and is a former kindergarten teacher. She and her husband are planning on opening a practice in family and individual counseling in the future. Of the area, Mrs. Elggren said, I love Castle Dale. My first impression was not good, but I soon fell in love with the mountains, the people, and the small town atmosphere. She encourages all residents in Castle Dale to contact her for news coverage of gossip items as well as other local events. Sandra Curtis reports that about 25 boys from the Webelos and Cub Scout Pack 316, and their leaders, met Thursday to sing carols to the homes of the elderly in their neighborhood.
