Show 4 Holiday Cookbook Edition, December 1980 7 cups sifted 6 tbs. butter CLAM CHOWDER Salads & Soups 2 6V2 oz. cup sugar (well beaten) 1 tsp. salt Dissolve yeast and 1 tbs. sugar in lukewarm water. Add the milk and 3 cups flour and beat until smooth. Cream butter and Vz cup sugar and add to first mixture. Add eggs, salt and remaining flour to make soft dough. Turn out on floured board and knead lightly. Place in greased bowl and let rise for 2 hours. While dough is rising, make filling (see recipe below). Turn dough out on a large, cloth, and roll with rolling pin evenly in a circle until dough is V inch tick. Spread liberally with filling. Roll jelly roll fashion, being careful to leave filling even. Place in a greased angel food cake pan. Bake at 325 for 1 hour or until golden brown. Rub with butter when taken from oven. A holiday tradition in our home.
