Sue Shrewsbury instrumental in setting up housing opportunity fund in Grand, San Juan area The GrandSan Juan Association of Realtors is the first local board in the state of Utah to have 1 00 percent of its real estate brokers participate in the Utah Association of Realtors Housing Opportunity Fund (UARHOF). The UARHOF program address issues of housing affordability and availability Participating brokers, in cooperation with participating banks, open an interest beanng broker trust account for the benefit of UARHOF. The interest earned is donated to support activities that expand, create or encourage the development of safe, decent affordable housing and home ownership opportunities for moderate and Utahns. To receive grant monies through UARHOF, recipients must submit to a rigorous application and review process, and most funds stay within the community in which they are earned. To date, thousands of dollars have been raised and donated to affordable housing programs throughout the state. Sue Shrewsbury, a realtor with Century 21 Red Rock Real Estate in Moab, was instrumental in earning the support of area brokers. Shrewsbury serves as the UARHOF Chair in the GrandSan Juan Area. Participating brokers include Randy Day, Anasazi Realty; David Bierschied, Canyonlands Julianne Realty; Fitzgerald, Century 21 Red Rock; Robert Lasater, Coldwetl Banker Arches; Bennion Redd, Lex Realty; Rick Lamb, Moab Realty L.C.; and Barbara Holcomb, ReMax Progressive Real Estate. Participating banks in the GrandSan Juan area include Zion's low-inco- Bank and Wells Fargo.
