The team entered the tournament as the third place seed from Region 14 and set to play the Rams from South Sevier. This win advanced the Devils to play for 5th place against Roland Hall who had placed ahead of Grand in Region 14 play and split the season series. The Devils were still riding high on emotion from the South Summit match and confidently 5-- 7.
