Show WEST JORDAN Claudia Butterfield AM 5-4014 Marlene Webb AM 5-4345 The West Jordan 4th Ward of-ficers of-ficers and teachers of the Sunday School organization are having a fun social Friday (today) at West Jordan Park. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Densley are special guests and will conduct dancing and singing, while Doyle Rasmusaen and Crant Chria-tofferaon Chria-tofferaon barbecue hamburgers. Millard Williams is superintendent of the Sunday School, Alida Stein-feldt Stein-feldt was in charge of the food and Norma Steadman had the task of inviting everyone. A fun time has J been planned for all. Doris Coster's and Idona Chris-tenaen's Chris-tenaen's 4-H cluba left early Wednesday Wed-nesday morning, July 18 for the Sprucea in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Can-yon. The girla stayed Wednesday and Thursday and returned home Friday morning. The nine girls who attended camp were chaperoned by Mrs. Laurel Jones. Members of West Jordan Junior High School band played and marched in the Youth Parade in Salt Lake City Thursday morning, July 19. After the parade, band members were taken to Lagoon for a real fun outing. Marjorie and Claudia Butterfield attended a personal bridal shower in honor of Vicky Merrill. It was held at the home of Mrs. Alta Jones in Salt Lake City. West Jordan 4th Ward Primary held a Round the Black parade at Primary Tuesday morning, July I 7. All Pilot and Skylot groups, which consists of about sixty children, participated in the parade. The Rulon Dahls and the Wayne Rusaons left Tuesday, July 1 7 for a week's vacation to the canyons. The Kartchner Reunion is being held Friday, July 20 (today) at West Jordan Park. Breakfast and dinner will be served. Mr. and Mrs. Cordon Drake and daughters, Linda and Tamora, left Monday, July 16 for the Seattle World's Fair. They plan vacationing vacation-ing for one week. Mrs. Verda Johnston will travel to New York to attend the Hill Cumorah Pageant with her father' and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Kartchner Kartch-ner of Sandy. They plan to stay till the latter part of August and will - visit other places of interest while in the east. They arv leaving right after the Kartchner reunion. West Jordan Stake Old Folk Day waa held at Lagoon Thursday, July 19. Dinner was served and a program was enjoyed by all who attended. Mrs. Ina Brockbank took her Firelight Girls of Primary to her home to cook and prepare a lunch Tuesday, July 1 7. Seven girls attended. at-tended. Mrs. Mark Money gave a party at her home in Holladay last Friday Fri-day evening for Mr. Brent Taft. Eighteen guests were in attendance. Ralph Webb ha returned from a trip to the Seattle World' Fair. He left with his aunt and uncle, Mr. end Mrs. LaVar Mabey and sons, La Mar and Dwayne, and his grandfather, Wilford L. Webb, on July 7 and had been gone about a week when his aunt took ill while in Canada and was flown home by plane to LDS Hospital in Salt Lake. She was accompanied on the plane trip by her father while her husband hus-band and boys and Ralph returned home in their car. Mrs. Mabey is now recuperating at the home of her sister, Mrs. Marcel Geisler in Rose Park. Recent visitors of Mr. and Mr. Kenneth Reid were her parent, Mr. and Mr. Walter E. Mrs. Rex Goff took her West Jordan 2nd Ward Primary class up the canyon for a nature study Wednesday. Wed-nesday. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Austin and family, Judy, Linda and Bobby Ray have returned from a two weeks' vacation in the northwest where they visited the Seattle World's Fair and also relative in the area. All 4-H clubs in the West Jordan area are enjoying a camp out at The Spruces in Big Cottonwood Canyon this week. Mrs. Genevieve Schmidt, county 4-H representative is with them.
