We, the people of the Moab Baptist Church, have many things to be grateful for during this Thanksgiving Season. First and foremost we're thankful for the gospel of our salvation the Good News that Christ died for our sins according the scriptures and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures." (I Cor. 15:3-4-) ' We are thankful we have believed Gods record concerning his Son and received Christ as our personal Savior. Now we can join with the Apostle Paul when he says Giving thanks unto the Father which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness and hath translated us into the kingdom of His Dear Son: In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins. (Col 1::; We are thankful for a God who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherein He loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved); and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Eph. 2:4-9- ) We are thankful for the earthly blessings the Father has bestowed on us. The donation of land for our church by David Allen, the generous contributions for our building, the labor done in love by all the volunteer workers, the dedication and ability of our contractor. Jay Jemison, the untiring efforts and the skill of Keith Eatough and his roofing crew, the closeness and fellowship established as we work together to build a home of worship. We are grateful to the Seventh Day Adventist Church for allowing us to rent their building on Sundays for worship. Were grateful to live in a country where we can love and serve the Lord and tell the gospel to others in freedom and without fear. Finally, we trust in Gods Word when He says For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many rebound to the glory of God. (II Cor. 4:15) It is our prayer that our thanksgiving rebound to the glory of God. Pastor Paul Chappell Moab Baptist Church of the LaSal president Branch of the LDS Church.
