Show A4 The Times-lndependen- Thursday, Noy. 25, 1982 t, Rainbow Bridge marina to close, move across lake Rainbow Marina is sche- duled to close down its operations in Forbidding Canyon on November 28, This unique floating marina, located about 60 njiles northeast of Glen Canyon Dam on Lake Powell, must be closed in preparation for its relocation to Rope Dangling Canyon, some nine miles further south. The National Park Service has announced that there will not be any visitor services such as gasoline, supplies, boat sewage pumpout, or fresh water available at Rainbow after 5 p.m. on November 28. Gasoline and limited food supplies should be available at Dangling Rope Canyon by December land. The move of Rainbow Marina is the second phase f a three phase $6.9 million project to provide first rate boating facilities at Dangling Rope Canyon, Participating in the project Is the concessioner for Wahweap and Rainbow Mar-198faas, Canyon Tours, Inc. 2. gasoline pumps and store at Dangling Rope beginning December 1. Boat sewage will not be pumpouts available until next spring. Marina is Steel Contractors, Inc. of Salt Lake City. Wahweap Marina has subcontracted to provide boats and crews for towing the marina to Dangling Rope. Superintendent Lancaster is appealing to the public for cooperation during the move.
