Ronald Edward Gratzinger, 38, is charged with three counts of theft by deception, a felony, and one count of pattern of unlawful activity, a second degree felony. According to documents filed in 3rd District Court, Gratzinger promised one woman in 1995 that he would take her Cessna airplane, at $450,000, to the Caribbean Islands and start an island charter service. After Gratzinger had been gone with the plane a "substantial period of time," the woman hired an investigator, who found the plane in St. Kitts, court documents say. The plane's prosecond-degre- e yal-ue- d V pellers were damaged. Court documents also allege that in 1997, another woman agreed to pay Gratzinger $10,000 to find someone to invest $150,000 in a health spa she operated. She paid Gratzinger about $8,000 after he told her he had found an investor. It was determined Gratzinger never broached the investment with the other party, court documents say. |
