Show HOLY ROSARY CHURCH by Connie Mochizuki Today First Friday of Month Today, Friday, June 2, is the first Friday of the month. At Holy Rosary Ros-ary Church there will be all day adoration with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and distribution of Holy Communion at 8 a.m. Benediction Bene-diction and mast at 6 p.m. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament Sacra-ment and distribution of Holy Communion Com-munion at 9:15 at Immaculate Conception Con-ception Church, Copperton with all day adoration until 3:30 p.m. First Friday mas i scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at St. Patchal't Church, Lark. Father Sullivan Honored With Surprise Birthday Party Shuffling toundt of youngtter scurrying about hurridly finding their apot in the program lineup indicated that curtain time for the parish talent how was drawing near last Sunday evening in BCO Hall. At 8 p.m. master of ceremonies for the evening, John J. Creedon, welcomed guests and announced the number on the program. An ac-cordian ac-cordian tolo by Esther Garduno opened the show followed by the "Chapanecas" dance performed by Gwendolyn Lopez, Pat Lopez, Joyce and Yolanda Pacheco directed by Mrs. Carmen Lopez. Lynn Ann Swenson accompanied by her mother, mo-ther, Mrs. Wally Swenson, sang " Peg O' My Heart". The number following wat the surprise for the evening, when the parishioners serenaded Father John J. Sullivan with a "Happy Birthday" Birth-day" tune, and Mary Margaret Cree don and Karen Bianchi presented him with a cake, beautifully decorated decor-ated with Rosary beads made of blue flowers and inscribed in Latin "Multos Annos, Pater" meaning "Many more Father," in English, in honor of his birthday and 1 0th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. A corsage wat presented present-ed to hit mother, Mrt. Timothy Sullivan by Karen Bianchi, from the parish. Mr. .Creedon then told Father how fortunate this parish hat been to have him as their pastor for 6 of the 10 years of his priesthood. He wished Father a brighter future and hoped that the dark hard years v.'ere behind him now. The program continued with the following selections: selec-tions: Special sons by the kindergarten Croup; pony dance by Ralph Pacheco; Pa-checo; piano solo "Rhapsody In Blue" by Dennis Bianchi; dance, Shaggy Dog Cha Cha, directed by Miss Pearl Milner; accordion and electric guitar solo by Esther Garduno Gar-duno and Timmy Tibolla; tap dance "Sweet Rosie O'Grady", Sharon' Osoro; little Fausto Rivas, singing "Alma Deaccro" accompanied by Pete Armijo and Benito Lozano; dance, Sentimental Journey, by Laural Kendrick and Irene Pino; "Irish Eyes Are Smiling" by the Lark choral group; Mexican Hat Dance by Philip Lopez and Joyce Pacheco; "Sugar Blues" on the trumpet by Dennis Bianchi; "On Top of Ole Smokey" by Lark choral chor-al group; "Farmers Dance by Lynn Ann Swenson, Shawnie Anderson and Stella Garcia, and guitar medley med-ley by Pete Armijo and Benito Lozano. Father Sullivan responded by expressing his gratitude for the show and birthday surprise, and then presented Dennis Bianchi a special placque as an award for his faithful years of service as organist for the parish and for serving as an altar boy. Light refreshmenas were . served by Mrs. Ralph Murano, Mrs. Hugo Bianchi, Mrs.- Sam Lovat, and Mrs. Blaine Milner. Thanks to Mrs. Blanche Creedon for the special cake, the Franciscan Sinters of the Atonement for the delightful programming, pro-gramming, JoAnn Gallegos and Maxine Martinez for the decorations decora-tions and the Holy Rosary Men's Organization and Immaculate Conception Con-ception and St. Paschal's Altar Societies So-cieties for providing the refresh, ments and . paper plate, napkin and cups.
