Regular practice prac-tice will be held by the choir Sunday Sun-day at 5:45 p.m. and the Singing Mother on Monday morning at 10. Bindy Boylin, who it attending BYU at Provo, is coming Friday (today) to spend the week end with her uncle and .aunt, Mr. and Mr. Dean Bateman and family. Last Saturday night Mr. and Mrs. T. Earl Kelly and Mr. and Mr. Kennedy Thornton of Salt Lake City enjoyed dinner at the "San Franciscan", returning afterward to the Thornton hpme for cards. A pot luck supper and program was held last Saturday night, March 31, at West Jordan Stake House for all members of Melchizedek Priesthood and their wives in West Jordan Stake. Curtis Jewkes was master of ceremonies. Program for the evening consisted of skits and musical numbers with each ward in the stake furnishing a number on the program. The affair was well attended. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Spencer are spending this week end in Las Vegas, Nev. Mr. and Mrs. Royal Spratling and son, Richard, hosted the March family fa-mily birthday party for the Bateman Bate-man family at their borne last Saturday Sat-urday night. The occasion honored the birthdays of Dean Bateman and Blaine Wixom. Other family members mem-bers present were Mrs. Dean Bateman, Bate-man, Mrs. Blaine Wixom, Mrs. P. T. West Jordan First Ward Relief Society is holding their annual fashion show of articles made by ladies in Relief Society next Wednesday, Wed-nesday, April II at 10 a.m. An apron and. bake sale will also be held that day. All ladies of the ward are invited. The 26 local chapters of Beta Sigma Phi sponsored a luncheon and fashion show at Hotel Utah in Sak Lake City last Saturday and among the models was Mrs. Richard Rich-ard We it wood of West Jordan who has been president the pastjrear of Xi Pheta Phi and is new parlimen-tarian parlimen-tarian of the city council. West Jordan Third Ward Singing Mothers and the choir are holding extra practices tonight, Friday, it is reported. Norman Butterfield celebrated his 1 4th birthday Monday, April 2. Theodore Booth is still in the hospital recovering from a fall suffered suf-fered at his place of employment, but is reported feeling much better. Carta Harmon celebrated her 14th birthday Sunday, April I. The presidencies of West Jordan Primaries are attending General Primary Conference in Salt Lake City this week. Claudia Butterfield was dinner guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Johnson on Sunday, April I, honoring the birthday of their daughter, Bobbie Lee. Miss Lynne Johnston's Sunday School class of West Jordan Fourth Ward is going bowling Friday (today). (to-day). After bowling they will return to the church house where all will enoyj banana splits. Miss Johnston teaches the 13 and 14 year olds. The West Jordan First Ward Seventies Group is holding a social at th stake house next Monday night, April 9 at 7:30 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Kidder Jr. were called to San Francisco, Calif. Sunday by the serious illness of his father, Russell Kidder Sr. He passed away Monday night. Funeral services ser-vices were held Thursday in San Francisco. West Jordan Third Ward Relief Society held their visiting teachers meeting Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. Subject of the lesson was "The Christ like nature of true mercy". The revelation given to William Phelps was discussed during the theology lesson. Mr. and Mrs. Monte Maynard recently became parents of a new baby boy. June Brinkerhoff is still quite ill but is feeling better. The LDS General Conference is being held this week Wednesday through Sunday in Salt Lake City. There will be a special priesthood session at West Jordan Stake House Saturday evening, April 7 at 7 pm. Tuesday they attended attend-ed the business meeting and annual an-nual banquet of Fur Breeders Ag. Coop Assn. and also addressed the EMBA regional meeting held afterwards. after-wards. Meetings and banquet were held at Prudential Federal Savings building. Mel and Ed Kidder of West Jordan Jor-dan and their sister, Mrs. Fred Bol-liger Bol-liger of Midvale left last Sunday for San Francisco, Calif., called by the serious illness of their brother, Russell Kidder. They saw him before be-fore he passed away the following evening, Monday night and attended attend-ed funeral services held Thursday (yesterday) in San Francisco. Mrs. Mel Kidder who has been confined home with a knee infection, infec-tion, is much improved. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Roach from Park City visited Wednesday with their mother, Mrs. Ed Kidder. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Butterfield were guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Wardell at the Mink ranchers banquet ban-quet at Prudential Federal Building Tuesday evening,, .April 3. Wednesday night the Beehive girls and fioy Scouts are having a party at West Jordan Stake House. Wilburn McDougal visited friends in Baker, Ore. He also visited with Miss Charlotte Kofford who lives in Oregon. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Friedman Pierson last week were their daughter dau-ghter in law and children, Mrs. Ceral Pierson, Janilyn and Paul of MonHcello.
