SALT LAKE CITY (AP) A suspect in a California armed robbery that left two people dead was arrested Friday in Utah. A man who identified himself as Jose Jesus Hernandez, 20, was arrested near Thompson, 175 miles southeast of Salt Lake City, after asking a Utah Highway Patrol trooper to give him a ride to his van that had run out of gas. Trooper Ken Colyar drove the man about 30 miles east of Thompson. While Hernandez poured gas in the van's tank, Colyar ran a check and saw the van was listed as stolen. The arrested man is suspected of being one of two men dressed in women's clothing who robbed stores in a Visalia, Calif., strip mall on Thursday. As they fled from police, one robber shot a bystander eating lunch with his wife and daughter. The bystander, Jeff Donaldson, 26, died of his wounds Friday morning. Police said they fatally shot one suspect, Carlos Roberto Landois, 25, of Kern County, at the scene after he fired several shots at police. uncomfortable in cozy urban developments V-TH- suspects yet in beating death of man Police do not know the B. His body was discovered when a friend went to check on the man and found him dead in a hallway. uinuriiuiii Urban planners say dense, e housing developments conserve resources and build stronger relationships among neighbors. Gibbons' lawyers requested that Frederick be removed earlier this month after disclosing that they plan to call the judge to the witness stand to question him about a probation agreement with a key defense witness. Salt Lake County prosecutors have filed a motion opposing the defense request. "There is no legal basis for Judge Frederick to recuse himself," prosecutors wrote.
