Show 0- - Sunday, May 24, ) THE HERALD, Provp, Two Provo High School seniors who will be graduating this week have been chosen by the Provo Exchange Club as the Boy and Girl of the Year. Ren Weiss, Senior Class President, and Linda Grow, President of the Girls Organization at Provo High, were selected for the honors. Miss Grow is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Grow, 1600 E. 800 N., Provo. Since 1968 she has been a member of the Provo High School Honor Society. She has been a member of the Ski Club since 16, and served as French dub Secretary in 1969. She also received the French Achievement Award that year. She was first runner-u- p in the "Make it With Wool" contest in 1969 and 1970, and is the Betty of Crocker Homemaker Tomorrow from Provo High for received the outstanding student award, and this year she wis named Outstanding Senior Girl at Provo High. She is the first runner-u- p in the state Sterling Scholar competition, and has been nominated for the Outstanding Teenager Contest of the United Slates. Mr. Weiss, a son of Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Weiss, 805 N. 1228 W., Provo, is 18, and the second oldest of five children. Last year he was state winner of the of "Voice Democracy" oratorical contest sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars organization, and represented Utah at the national competition 1970. summer. in Washington, D.C He represented Provo High School in the Senate Youth Program and attended State Senate sessions as part of the program. He also has been chairman of the school committee working with the Provo (Sty Drug Abuse Committee, editor of the Provo High literary magazine, "Expression," president of the Forensic United Nations, a member of the debate team at Provo High, president of the Quill and Scroll Club, member of the Bowling Club, Life Saving Club, Ski Club, Thespian Society, yearbook staff and the National Honor Society. In addition, he was recently elected President of the Provo City Young Democrats. Mr. Weiss has been named one of the outstanding teenagers in America, appears in Who's Who of American Teenagers, and recently won first place in the program.
