Two of the three are lefties and from Salt Lake, Ray the leader, is from Provo and the winner of the King Winter tournament and looks like he is setting some pretty high goals in the T&C for the boys to shoot for. The Daily Herald's Match play championship tournament for Utah County bowlers is coming soon and you all have until May 6 to qualify for the championship playoffs. In the men's division we have had 8 entries and the leaders so far are Ricr Woodard with a 211 average for 6 games, second is Keith Kearns with a 204 average, and in third is Ray Campbell with a 201 average. In the Ladies division we have had 7 entries today and the leaden are Lois Jensen with a 179 average, Betty Whittaker in 2nd with a 177 average and third place LaRee Witherell with a 173. These are only the standings of the entries at Regals. Any bowler in Utah county can try to qualify in any bowling establishment in the county. The leagues are finishing up their seasons and a few of the champions for this year are: In the Utah Travel League our Regal team won first place, and won all honors for high games and series both as a team and by the individual members. The only thing they didn't come in first for was for high average. In the Starliners League, the Comets were the champions with nigh series going to Peggy Stubbs for a 593 and Sandy Swensen had a high game of 269. In the Monday night mixed doubles league, the AAA Trading Post are the champs, with high series for men we had Woody Eggertsen with a 597, and high game by Rod Iseo with a 230, in the womens high series we had Christa Davis with a 581 and a high game by Carroll tggertsen with a 235. In the Riverside Ladies, Ann's Purty Peper Shakers are the champs, with high series being rolled by Coralie Andrus with a 587, and Mary Bevan hit the high game for 232. In the Tuesday Mixed the champions are Alma's Cleaners. In the Men's City League, the Champs are the United Homes Inc. team, with Blaine Farnsworth hitting the high series of 705, and Max Elmer rolling up a sweet 274 for high game. In the UPOT League, for the men George Adams hit the high series of 593 and J. Leetham had the high game of 243, for the ladies Peggy Sullivan had the high series of 521 and Millie Rupp had the high game of 212. In the Morning Glory League, the champions are the Columbian Motel team, and Betty Whittaker hit the high series of 572, and Peggy Stubbs rolled the high game of 211 In the Merchant league the champions were Hoover's team (the mad mod uniforms may have helped a lot) with the high series for the league being Bill Havanors 702, and the high game being Jim Sutherland's zinging 292. In the Merry Mixups the leaders and champs were the Electric Motor service team, with Roger Farrer making a double hit of high series for 648 and high game for 257, in the ladies side of the league Sandy Swenson rolled a sweet series of 612, and Marilyn Fulton turned in a neat 238 for high game. And in the Escalante League the league champions were Behener's and Behr's, with Fred Becker hitting both high series for 565 and high game for 208 for the men, and Majors, the most thrilling race of the day.
