Carbon 5. Springville Herald Sports Writer One of the most popular of the all around athletes and good fellows at Brigham Young High School is Robert (Bob) Bunker, football, basketball, track and baseball player. Bob came up through the Pony League baseball pro gram and held down a spot r in the infield, playing at sec- ond base and shortstop, pretty regularly , for one year. Lack of time was a big element in his dropping the 4 sport in high school. The young star, son of Coach Bob Bunker at Brig-hai Young University, is still undecided as to which of the sports he wants to follow when "he gets into college. His inclinations right now, are toward the gridiron game ( if he can just put on enough weight to justify his choice).' He Dlaved hall back as a junior; then was shifted toBob Bunker quarterback in the new program outlined by Coach Jed Gibson. His father was an end and Bob has even given that spot ' some consideration. . He has really shown to advantage in track and field work where he has been running the two sprints and working in the ;broad jump. In last Friday's , Region Seven competition' he had his troubles and had to be satisfied with a fourth in the century ; was shut out in the 220 and had to.be satisfied with a tie for third in the broad jump In the coin toss that decided qualification for the state he lost in that, so his track days are over for the season. Bob was born in Logan but the family moved to Preston, Idaho when he was one year old, and then in 1949 the Bunkers came to Provo. He attended school at Joaquin and Farrer Junior High before transferring to BY High where he has enjoyed quite an athletic career. ... 59. 56 22 ......... .14 6..
