Seven buildings are being demolished this summer and fall. The remaining three will be pulled down next spring. "The tenants of the seven buildings have been relocated in other facilities on base." said Pat McKreaken, deputy director. 2849th Civil Engineering Squadron. "We expect to find additional housing for the folks in the remaining three buildings by next spring," he said. "The buildings are being torn down for a variety of reasons." he said. They are expensive to heat, cool and maintain. They have asbestos that requires removal to be environmentally safe, and bringing them up to fire and safety standards woifid be very expensive, he noted.
