Show Citizen, Press, Review - Wednesday, Feb. 14, 1996 - Page 'Undecidedly Yours1 great Valentine's date By KATHERINE SCHROEPPEL Lindon's Center Valley Playhouse's musical original "Undecidedly Yours" offers a decidedly romantic look at love in the 90's. Written by Joyce Gunther of Pleas ant Grove, this is a story of widow Diana Tbwnshend (Lynda Robyns) and her son Corey (Dylan Bean) facing the challenges of letting go of the past when divorced David Carter (Jonathon Lofgren) walzes (literally) into their life. Diana is helped by her vivacious sister Candace (Leslie Stott) who is eager for Diana to get a man. Musical numbers help with the character development as well as set the tone for the play. The small cast of four delivers solid performances directed by Joseph Sorenson. They do a good job of keeping the energy level up, along with audience interest, as Diana and Corey struggle with their mixed emotions at having someone take the place of their deceased husband and father who it seems could do no wrong. Both Robyns and Lofgren have wonderful voices that are showcased well by the music also composed and written by Gunther who was the music director as well. Their song "Would It Hurt To Know?" is beautiful and professionally executed. The choreography is well done and fun to watch especially when David sings of his in "Sly Woman." A poignant moment comes when Corey sings of his father in In My Memory." The dialogue of the show is witty and entertaining especially in the use of metaphors. It is the attention to small details in this production that lend credibility to the storyline and to the characters. When Diana sings holding her wedding ring or David finds an old article Diana had cut out of the newspaper years before, it gives the effect of watching real people. And while theater in the round does not allow for a lot of scenery, the furniture there is (including a refridgerator) and the props (including groceries) give the The Dance Academy has moved to a new location at 439 West Industrial Drive in Pleasant Grove, and will hold a grand opening this Tuesday, Feb. 20, starting at 4 to 10 p.m. introduce the new facility to the public. Ingersoll, RFC It is axiomatic that investors Jeff Ingersoll, president of Total J find it much easier to buy than to sell. Hope dies hard, and even as you watch an investment sink, you may cling to the notion that an upturn is around the corner. And you may be right. But what if you're not? Emotion plays a significant part in this difficulty in parting with a portion of the portfolio. Perhaps selling seems like an admission that one has "bought a lemon." It is part of many successful strategies to set a point at which you will sell an investment, no matter what the emotion of the moment. The costumes were well chosen and truly reflect the individual characters. The cast occasionally had a hard time of getting out their lines, but did a good job of covering up mistakes and didn't break their concentration. of the quality Overall, "Undecidedly Yours" is and is well worth the $5 cost of a ticket.
