I Elder Jeffery Smith Jeffery Smith to serve in Australia Elder Jeffery Forrest Smith, son of Larry and Terry Smith of Pleasant Grove, has been called to serve in the Australia Adelaide LDS Mission. He will speak in a sacrament service Sunday, Feb. 18,a t 10:30 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove 6th Ward Chapel, 193 N. 400 East. Elder Smith will enter the Missionary Training Center on Feb. 21. President Tucker spoke on the importance of prayer, saying that prayer is an exercise of faith. He also quoted Elder Boyd K. Packer about the shield of faith being developed in the home. He ended by promising that if we follow the counsel of the prophets and men such as Elder Packer and Elder Huber, our families will be strengthened and we will receive exaltation as a family. President David Holbrook spoke briefly on the experience his family had when they visited the Bountiful Temple during its open house. "Part way through I realized we were not really appreciating what we were seeing," he said. He continued by admonishing members to prepare themselves and their families to see more than just the beautiful building during the approaching open house for the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. He further instructed members to consid er the purpose of each what is taught there. room i and Stockton participated as youth speakers in the morning session, with Chad Yates and Tiffaney Willey speaking in the afternoon session; several members of the audience were also called upon to bear their testimonies. Edler Huber was the concluding speaker, and began by saying that the Quorum of the Twelve had invited certain wards to attend selected sessions of the Lehi Stake Conference next Sunday. (See accompanying article.) He spoke about Family Home Evening and promised that great blessings will come if we gather our families together for Home Evening. The remainder of his remarks was directed to the youth, and he admonished them, when confrom-nte- d by negative situations, to remembr Chist's question in Third Nehpi, "What manner of men ought ye to be?" He closed by talking about the law of the harvest, restoration and understanding the principles of justice and mercy so we can be true disciples of Christ. Two sessions will be held on Sunday, with specific wards being invited to attend a particular ? ses- sion.
