They had a big win at home over Park City on the 1 1th and hope to continue winning. The team has made great strides this year and have had many great moments when everyone was playing at perfection. The team has practiced every day from 2:30 to 5 p.m. and their diligence has paid off. During September, Lehi's varsity squad hosted their first ever volleyball tournament where seven other teams participated. Games were played FViday evening and all day Saturday. Lehi played well and came out on top to take home a large trophy. The teams are coached by Laurel Jacobson, Varsity; Callie Grant, J.V.; and Laurie Thayne, caught with their fingers in the face mask and Uintah ended up with the ball, a first down and eventually a score. Uintah clinched the Region 10 Page 9 Special honors were paid to the coaches and the only senior on the squad, Lindsey Clark, before Thursday's game. With five returning players next year, Lehi will be a team to contend with. Friday The Lady Pioneers pounded the Red Ladies, 1 at the playoffs last Friday in Lehi. With the defeat of Cedar City, Lehi hosts the State 3A soccer semifinals this Friday at noon against St. George's Pineview. Their win would place them in the state championship game that will be on the Lehi field this Saturday at noon. However, Pineview is a formidable foe and a win for Lehi would be a complete reversal of a previous PineviewLehi game where the St. George players soundly defeated them. Special guest clinician will be Tresa Spaulding Hamson, BYU center and 1987 NCAA Scoring Champion. Spaulding Hamson, who played led the for BYU between 1983-8nation in scoring with a 28.93 ppg average her senior year. She also boasted a 10 reboundgame average and shot 65 percent from the field.
