And as the preacher indicated, Leon "found it again after many days..." in this case 56 years. This summer Gary Robertson traveled to Utah from Miniola, Tex., to find out if "her" missionary was still alive after all of these years and to thank him for bringing his message to her home. She found Leon still active in the Mormon church as a participating member of a ward in Lehi. During her visit, Gary recalls her baptism which took place in a river 1925 near Kelsey, Tex., on Dec. 27, 1925. "The two Elders built a shelter to change our clothes in and keep us warm," she said. "By the time I got out of the water the clothes were frozen stiff so a fire was built in the middle of the lean-t- o to thaw things out. But I didn't care. I had waited more than 11 years from the time I had received a copy of the Book of Mormon until Elder Kirkham and his companion, Hudson Lomax, knocked on my door and I didn't want to wait any longer." After visiting with Leon, Mrs. Robertson entered the LDS mission home in preparation for missionary service to the Central States Mission. delightful program of music will be presented in the Twelfth Ward Sunday, April 17, at 1 p.m. The program is under the direction of Arva Bone with Helen Jones as narrator.
