She also mentioned that the brakes on the grader have been partially repaired, one brake now in working order. Richard Williams reported that gravel is available to private citizens through the BLM at $10 per 40 yards. PLANNING COMMISSION: This has been a quiet winter for road work. With little snowfall we have had no trouble keeping up with snow removal. Besides safer travel, snow removal is important in preventing moisture penetrating the roads. The latter contributes greatly to mud conditions during spring thaw. Damian Bollerrnan, our resident grader operator, has quickly developed the skill to maneuver the grader on some of the steeper hills, thereby doing a more thorough job. John Blake and Damian replaced all applied for the two openings on the the master cylinder and power cylinder commission. All three applicants read their letters of interest and discussion followed. Jack Campbell made a motion to appoint Andrea Wheeling and Randy Jorgen. Pat Plastow seconded. Some attending protested because Jeff Whitney was not proposed on our grader, both of which had been as an appointee. A heated and lengthy discussion then ensued. Donovan Roberts moved the appointment be tabled until the first February meeting Those interested should contact Sal at so the Planning Commission might 259-9193. These positions nance will be mailed to area Realtors so that prospective buyers will have meeting, reviewing the qualifications of expanding the Commission to eight Campbell voting no. The Castle Valley Zoning Ordi— correct information regarding our zoning. McLanahan Trailer: The town acknowledged that a mistake was made full of sand. We now have one functioning brake, just enough to manage the hills. The road crew will be working on repairing the other three brakes over the winter. Good news for everyone is the nearby availability of gravel for our municipal and private use. Road Committee member Richard Williams contacted Sal of BLM concerning the gravel pits on Rt. 128 and just above Castleton. Both are available for gravel removal. According to Sal, $10 will buy you 40 yards of gravel (you load and haul). Call him for details at 2598193 or stop in the BLM Grand Resource office at 885 S Sand Flats Road, at the junction of Mill Creek Drive. A permit is required. Road Committee meetings will be held on the third Tuesday of the month starting this month. Meetings start at 7:30 pm.
