See today for what it is because it >14 /l\ BLM Approves Hot Air Ballooning On May 27, BLM approved the hot air ballooning permit for Wild West Ballooning Company. The permit is for one year, and it allows daily early morning flights of three balloons until November 1. The permit is for the Fisher Towers-Professor Valley areas, including the base of Castle Rock and up the paved Loop Road approximately to the top of the pass through Pace Hill. The boundary of the permit was slightly modified to exclude the portion of the Loop Road from Pace Hill (near our mailboxes) to the Seventh day Academy. This portion had been part of the original proposal. The BLM document stated that “There were 8 letters received which were opposed to issuing the permit One of the letters was copied and sent in with additional signatures. and a petition was brought in which sup- ported issuing the permit in the Castle Valley area.” Several residents called Brad Palmer expressing opposition to the ballooning; their comments were apparently not included in the record.
