I looked at the big bushel of peaches waiting to be bottled. Remembered there was a washing to be done and a house to be cleaned up. Then I thought of an invitation from codge, and I said, "sure, I'd like to go with you." I climbed into the truck, which is quite a trick, settled back and enjoyed myself completely. We traveled up Provo Canyon, (my first trip through the canyon this year) where the coloring is beautiful. There isn t the riot of autumnal glory seen in Spanish Fork Canyon or Sardine Canyon, but the contrasts of mountains, river and sky is unbelievable. There were scarlet daubs dotting the s of sagebrush-covere- d hills, the brilliant blue of the September sky with deep forest green pines searching upward for the warmth of the sun. Surprisingly, few cars were on the road that morning so we almost had the canyon to ourselves. We stopped in Heber for breakfast. After a scrumptious breakfast of omelettes and juice, we continued up the canyon to Kamas Valley. Don unloaded the blocks and I helped by rolling up the binders. Big task. . . We traveled home via Salt Lake City. I just couldn't believe the building and changes in and near Park City. One of these days park City will be the mecca of skiing industry in Utah. Hope they can handle it. What a fun day. . . You can see Provo Canyon too, if you travel to the football game at Wasatch Friday afternoon. Get a date and go. No good night kiss??
