Show LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL EVENTS The Little Leaguo games played July 23 were Machinists vs First Security Bank. Final score was 10 to 4 in favor of the Bankers. Patrick Delaney and Gary Cough were pitchers for the Machinist and Mike Padgen and Danny Brentel for the Bankers. Delaney made a home run for Machinists and Brentel Bren-tel made one and Dan Watanabe made two for the Bankers. In the other game the Firemen played the Brotherhood. Pitchers for Firemen were Mickey Milner and Danny Peterson, for the Brotherhood Broth-erhood Dick Moulton, Reed Jenkins and Sammy Pino. Tommy McNeilis hit a home run for Firemen and Albert Pino, Reed Jenkins each one and Sammy Pino and Dick Moulton each two for the Brotherhood. The Pino brothers, Albert and Sammy, are both dcing fine playing. Both catch and pitch besides play other positions. It is almost a sure thing that Sammy will hit one or two homers each game. Outcome of this game was Hremen 3, Brotherhood Brother-hood 18. On Monday, July 27th, it was Brotherhood vs First Security Bank with the usual pitchers for both teams. Score was I I to 6 for the Bankers. Dennis Wiechman was star of this game. He hit the only two home runs of the game scoring three other men for his team, the Bank. The Firemen played the Machinists Machin-ists with the game ending9 to 8 in favor of the Machinists. Pitchers were Milner, D. Peterson . and G. Peterson for Firemen, Jeff Swain, Gary Gough and Larry Arritola for the Machinists. The Firemen had two home runs made by McNeilis and Bobby Cochran. All of the teams have their star players and are doing well. The Machinists have one boy who could be a star on any team. He is a fine pitcher, a good hitter and has all the other fine qualities of a good baseball player. He is anxious and willing to do just a little more than is expected of him and is well mannered, man-nered, very seldom shows anger at anyone. Good luck, Gary Gough. All games are s-dieduled for 5 :00 p.m. and for next week will be held Monday, Wednesday' and Friday. Plenty of room for everyone. See you there. |
