A resurgence of nationalistic militarism is evident Pernaps April 4 could be one day that publications like the Chronicle could be a catalyst for thoughtful, meaningful reflection. Dr. King chose to tight his enemies with words and love, not weapons of violence. He was willing to die for the cause of justice, but he was not willing to kill for it His words and his life are still able to change hearts and minds, and his dream of justice, equality and harmony among all men and women can still come true. As Dr. King proved, words can be powerful tools for healing. Conversely, lack of words can lead to apathy and ignorance. .Maybe next April 4, the Chronicle will meet its journalistic responsibility by contributing some words of its own remembrance to Dr. King. The assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on April 4, 1968, should not be easily forgotten. Although the Chronicle's excellent coverage of the subject in January (Dr. King's birthday) was impressive, it would have been appropriate to at least have one article or editorial, however brief, on the anniversary of Dr. King's death. Instead of immediately tossing what I thought to be just another junk publication, I carried the FebruaryMarch edition of Review up to my apartment and read it from cover to prompted by an interesting feature titled "The U.'s Wobble Motor" and its accompanying photograph. This tabloid-styl- e newspaper, published by the department of public relations, provided so much information about various programs and achievements at the U. that it causes me to offer both praise and thanks to the editor, J. Byron Sims. I particularly enjoyed the emphasis on high technology. As presented, I compliment the writers for their attention to style and readability. Each article was easy to understand and provided just enough information to cover the assignment without excessive length. I feel they succeeded in communicating useful information efficiently and responsibly. In addition to quality journalism, I feel it's equally important to applaud the consistent use of sound layout and design techniques. The typography was comfortable to read and contributed greatly to my enjoyment of this publication. Since I am one of many students forced to use time wisely, I really appreciated reading the material printed in the Review because it contributed to my knowledge about the university in a manner both appealing and concise. The University of Utah has a lot to offer, yet so much is obscured by inadequate communication among the various academic departments. The Review surely achieves an important objective by providing a medium that emphasizes the significant features and benefits this university offers to society. It makes me feel good to know about innovation and creativity being expressed at this school. Such ought to stimulate a greater affinity for achievement in each of our respective Disciplines.
