The clinic is free. Persons must register for the program by 5 p.m. in the Outdoor Program office, Union 169. The clinic will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. call 581-569- present 7. The heavy snows this week have given us a beautiful blanket of powder snow, but the avalanche danger is considerable at most of the popular touring locations. Tourers are reminded to stay away from open slopes, carry avalanche rescue equipment and, of course, enjoy the best powder Utah has had in two years. The Greeks at the University are sponsoring an Easter Seals Benefit, Ski for Those Who Can't, February 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Park City Ski Resort and the White Pine Touring Center. Cross country skiers and downhill skiers will ski kilometers and vertical feet to raise money for the handicapped. Help them out by sponsoring someone or skiing and getting sponsors for yourself. Information is available from the ASUU offices. SKIING Holubar will also give a clinic on cross country skiing equipment next Wednesday from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Union 323. This program is cosponsored by the Campus Recreation Campus Capers. The cost of 50 may be paid from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at HPER A congratulations is due the ROTC, Village Sports Den, and Trak skis for putting on a very successful race last Saturday at Mountain Dell golf course. The City Park Dash, the fourth race of the Deseret News Cup series, will be held this Saturday at Mountain Dell Golf course. The race begins at 9 a.m. with registration starting at 8 a.m. The entry fee for all Deseret series races is $3. The Campus Recreation Outdoor Program purchased 15 pairs of cross country skis this week, giving everyone a chance to take advantage of the cheapest rentals in town. The program rents Karhu and Rossignol touring skis with boots, poles and a waxing kit for $2 a day. The service is only available to students who have paid their tuition and to staff or faculty who have paid their campus recreation fee. For more information on ski rental Sunday at Brighton. There will be ski tours Saturday and Sunday from the lodge, with dinner Saturday and breakfast Sunday. A band, beverages and square dancing will be provided. The cost of the party is $7.
