Show Page 10. THE LEADER-GARLAN- TIMES, December D 15. 1977 OBITUARIES Holcn Elizabeth Scholor Jonson Helen Elizabeth Scholer Jensen, 72, of Fielding, Utah died Dec. 14, 1977, after a short illness. She was born July 21, 1995, in Stuffenville, Ohio to Portman and Ru- dolph Scholer. She married Andrew Austin Jensen Dec. 21, 1923. The marriage was later solnmiz - Viola Gunn Caponor Dertha H. Charles Gardner Rita G. Halos W. Wood Bertha Lapriel Hadfield Gardner, 60 of Deweyville, died Friday, Dec. 9, 1977 at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City. She was born May 11, 1917 at Riverside, a daughter of John Henry and Louisa Hancock Hadfield. She was reared and educated in Bear River valley. he married Floyd M. Gardner Sept. 14, 1935 in Brigham City. She was a past member of the Deweyville Friendly Circle Club. She had worked at the Cross Roads Cafe, Steed's Dairy Bar, Thiokol Commissary and Hamilton Drug. She was a member of the Deweyville LDS ward, serving in the past as Sunday School, Primary and YWMIA teacher. Surviving are her husband of Deweyville, three sons and a daughter, DeLon H. Gardner of Tujunga, Calif.; Ralph Floyd Gardner, Blackfoot, Idaho; Cecil Brent Gardner, Deweyville; Mrs. John (Cheryl) Roberts of Boulder, Colo. ; 10 grandchildren; two brothers and seven sisters: Leon Hadfield, Mrs. Johnny (Darlene) Mellis and Mrs. George (Luella) all of Salt Lake City; John L. Hadfield, Boise, Idaho; Mrs. Othello (Almeada) Gun-derso- n, are: mental, physical, sexual, and neglect and the types of children that are abused and how. Mrs. Rita Sophie Gabaldon Hales, 54, of Fielding, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 1977, at her home of cancer. Mrs. Hales was born June 11, 1923, in Corinne, a daughter of Paul and Lugandila Romero Gabaldon. She was married to Charles T. Hales in Elko, Nev. She was reared and educated in Salt Lake City and attended St. Anthony Nursing School. She had lived in Kaysville and moved to Fielding in Charles William Wood, 95, of Garland, died Friday, Dec. 9, 1977 at the Oneida County Hospital in Malad of causes incident to age. He was born Aug. 2, 1882 in Farmington, a son of Jonathan David and Kathleen Blanche Bird Wood. He Hannah Claire on Jan. 16, 1907 in the married Sail Lake LDS temple. She died Aug. 10, 1964. He was a retired farmer and truck driver. He was 1962. reared and educated in Farmington and Salt Lake Surviving are her husband of Fielding: her mother of Salt Lake City; three brothers and four sisters, Ben Gabaldon, Louis Gabaldon, Ruben Gabaldon, Mrs. Lucy Con Ion, Mrs. Minnie Lopez, all of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Alfred (Frances) Martinez, Sandy; Mrs. Priscella Sand-ava- l, Hayward, Calif. Also surviving are two stepbrothers, Ben Gabaldon, Jose Gabaldon, both of Ogden. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 12 noon in the Rogers Mortuary in Tremonton with Bishop City. He was a high priest in the Garland First LDS Ward. He a Holland mission in 1903 to 1906. He filled three stake missions in the Bear River Stake. He had been a member of the Bear River Stake Sunday School Board, member if tne YMMIA superintendency and superintendent of the had fulfilled Garland North Sunday School and home teacher. Surviving are six sons and a daughter, Charles J. Wood and Ferrell G. Wood, both of Garland; Theron E. Wood, Salt Lake City; Clyde Q. Wood, Cheyenne, Wyo.; Reed D. Wood, Ogden; Mrs. Robert H. (Clara) Davis of Logan; 24 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Five brothers and one sis- Richard N. Petersen officiat- ing. Burial in the Fielding Cemetery. CARD OF THANKS . Viola Gunn Capener, age 73, of Malad City died Dec. 1, 1977 in a Salt Lake City hospital of a short illness. She was born Jan. 11, 1904 at Salt Lake City to John F. and Mary Ann Jackson Gunn. She was married to n (Lew) Capener June 11, 1925 in the Salt Lake City Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints. Mr. Capener died Sept. 16 Llew-elluy- 1964. She attended Granite High School in Salt Lake City. Being an active member of the LDS Church, she served as a Stake Drama Director, Primary secretary, Visiting teacher, and Stake board member of the Special Interest Group. She had resided in Utah, Idaho, Kansas, Wyoming, Washington and moved to Malad in 1955. She and her husband opened the Malad Drive on August 1, 1955. She was a member of the Ladies Literary Club and Oneida County War Mothers. Surviving are three sons and two daughters: Richard L., Salt Lake City; Gene H., Malad City; Jay H., Parma; Mrs. John (Helen) Batis, Tremonton, Utah; Mrs. J. Reed (Pat) Dowdle, Boise. grandchildren great grandchildren. One brother and four sisters: Clifford Gunn, Mrs. Earl (Zelma) Mallory, Mrs. Frank (Alice) Devey, Mrs. 257-306- 6 Rogers Mortuary Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday in the Fielding Ward She was a housewife and a member of the Fielding LDS Ward. She served as a Relief Society visiting teacher. Survivors are two sons and two daughters, Jerald Jensen and Mrs. Lois Smith both of Ogden, Utah; ODean Jensen, Newhall, Calif, and Mrs. Clain M. (Lila) Grover Fielding. Fifteen grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Survivors also include two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Buxton, Elwood and Mrs. Margaret Forsgren Tremonton. Funeral services will be held Saturday Dec. 17, 1977, in the Fielding LDS Ward Chapel at 1 p.m. with Bishop Richard N.
