They were house-gues- ts of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan (Karol King) Lufkin and family in Seattle, after which they traveled down the coast and visited Mr. and Mrs. Bob Somers in Napa, toured points of interest in San Francisco, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Burton Howard in Redwood City, visited Mr. and Mrs. Virg Macfarland and spent some time sightseeing in the Los Angeles area. Houseguests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Garn the past week were Mr. and Mrs. Dee Garn and son, Jason, of Blackfoot. Dee and his family are in the process of moving to Logan where he is employed.' Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Coombs joined Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Coombs in Salt Lake City Saturday and attended Holiday on Ice at the Salt Palace. TERESA OKADA took first place in the senior division Dress Review at the Utah State Fair with the creation she's wearing in the above photo. She'll represent the state in Chicago. 4-- Teresa Okada Wins State ress Review Teresa Okada, Thatcher, representing Box Elder dress County in the state 4-- revue, came home as the champion from the recent competition. This enables her to compete in the national competition in Chicago this November. Miss Okada was named as a champion after sewing and modeling a gray dacron polyester three-piec- e gaucho suit accented with black boots, gloves and gray pin-strip- hat. The ten best were chosen to model at the grandstand in Salt Lake City during state fair time and the winner was announced. Miss Okada has been involved in for nine years. She competed in the state dress revue last year. 4-- She says that she became becuase "it is involved in just the thing to do in That4-- H cher." Miss Okada sews most of her clothes because it is '"more economical and more challenging." "I spent the entire summer sewing," she said. Miss Okada is a 1977 graduate of Bear River High School. She will continue her education this fall at Utah State University where she plans on majoring in special education. She will take a ten-da- y vacation in November for the state competition in Chicago. Miss Okada is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenge Okada of Thatcher. Burial took place in the Fielding Cemetery. Preston is a former resident of Fielding. Stacy Garn of Scottsdale, Ariz., a former resident of Fielding was a speaker at the service. Mrs. Teri Garn and children, Jenny and Jared, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Wanda Lundahl, and children, Brett and Eric, of Providence attended the Holiday on Ice at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City Saturday. Tuesday evening Mr. and Mrs. Keith Moss and son, Kim, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Zachary Champlin and daughter, Teri, of Logan enjoyed a dinner party at the Juniper Inn in North Logan. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Mason spent Sunday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Rollin Thomas and family in Soda Springs. Spending the fore part of last week visiting Mr. and Mrs. Leon Grover and famand ily were their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bert (Margene) Chew and three children of Rock Springs, son-in-la- Wyo. Enjoying Sunday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Arno Liebelt and family in American Fork were Mr. and Mrs. John McClellan and family. Mrs. Keith Moss and son, Kim, joined Miss Mary Jane Moss of Salt Lake City for a dinner party at Bratten's Restaurant Wednesday. Saturday Mrs. Maxiene Garn, Mrs. Jeanne Christen-se- n and family, Mrs. Carol Forsberg and daughter, Paula, Mrs. Bonnie Garn, Mrs. Janet Garn and daughters, Stephanie and Leslee, Kathy, Tina and Lesa Garn, accompanied by Mrs. Marie Lefler of Riverdale, Julie Hansen and daughter, Angela, of Bountiful, attended the performance of Holiday on Ice at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City. Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Smith, Marian and Maria enjoyed dinner at the Utah Noodle in Ogden. The occasion was Gordon's birthday anniversary. Later they visited Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Kimber and family in Ogden. Mrs. Sara Moss spent Thursday with her sister, y Mrs. Vadis Gilgen in Malad. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Asael Godfrey Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Scott (Susan) Hubbard and two sons of ' North Salt Lake. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gale Welling were Mr. and Mrs. Preston Garn and daughter, Gloria, of Centerville. Mrs. Helen Jensen has been transferred from the Logan Hospital to the McKay-De- e Hospital in Ogden where she is reported to be slightly improved accordand ing to her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Claine Grover. Mrs. Leona Adams has been receiving medical care in the Logan Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Adams and daughter, Jana Dee, and son, Douglas, and her husband, Afton, have visited her at the hospital. Mrs. Lovinnie Holt has been spending a few days in Ogden as a houseguest of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Stokes. She also visited Mr. and Mrs. Bob Whitney and other relatives. While there she attended a family party at the Stokes home honoring Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lee and three children of Tulsa, Okla. who were houseguests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Holt in Bountiful. Approximately forty family members attended. Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Adams, accompanied by Mrs. DeAnna McMullin of Brigham City, attended a special Tupperware meeting held at the Apache Party Sales Warehouse in Salt Lake City during the week. Overnight guests of Mr. i Mr. and Mrs. Virgil (Wanda) Misner of Medford, Ore. have been houseguests of Mr. and Mrs. Steed (Eathel) Estep for the past week. Visiting one day during the week with Mrs. Eleanor WYight of Brigham City was Mr. and Mrs. James B. Estep. Adams is announcing the opening of his practice for general dentistry in the Medical Arts Center of Brigham City at 990 South 500 West. Dr. Adams was born and raised in Brigham City. He has attended Utah State University and Northwestern University School of Dentistry located in Chicago, 111. where he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He has recently been appointed as the Dental Health Chairman of the local Dental Society. Dr. Adams is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Adams of Brigham City. He is married to the former Barbara Baugh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Max Baugh of Harper Ward. The couple has one son. Mrs. Julie Ann Scott of Fielding and her mother, Mrs. Hazel Hess of Plymouth attended a wedding at Bear River City Saturday and enjoyed dinner at the Golden Spike in Corinne. A lovely family dinner was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed (Delia) Silvester Sunday to the following guests - Mr. and Mrs. Norris Hess, Plymouth; Mr. and Mrs. Ted (Sara) Moon, Farmington; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hess, Sunset; and Mrs. Inez Bragg of Garland. Mrs.' Jane Udy enjoyed a social in Brigham City Thursday with her sisters, Mary Hess, Genevieve Jensen, Lenore Silvester and Eva Zundel. Special speakers of the day were, Stake President Myron P. Sorensen, Clyde Hansen and Wayne Kent, High Councilman Conrad Alder and Loyal Harris, Bishop Douglas J. Gibbs, Ronley Jones and James Neal John. Friday Mr. and Mrs. Harris went to Rigby, Idaho to attend the wedding reception for Mr. and Mrs. Kirt Shumway. They also went to Rexburg and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Craig Smith and daughter, Amie. Saturday was a special day for the Wynn John family when they met at the Salt Lake airport to meet their son and brother, Elder James Neal John, who res turned home from the Texas-Dalla- LDS mission. Mr. and Mrs. Wynn John and family of Portage, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin John and family of Vernal, Miss Mar-len- e John of Logan and Mr. and Mrs. Jeddie W. Ricks of Benson and Mr. and Mrs. Skip Chandler and children were all there to see the r plane land. Following" the welcome' homey the family all enjoyed dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Skip Chandler. They returned home Saturday evening. Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Devere Harris attended the Robert C. and Sylvia G. Harris family reunion which was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Harris in Logan. The family members enjoying the day were Mr. and Mrs. Loyal G. Harris, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Harris of Kaysville, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Laws of Layton, Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Nielsen of Riverton and Mr. and Mrs. Harris, 30 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Miss Paula Pettingill of Provo was a guest of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil C. Harris from Monday until Wednesday. Thursday Mr. and Mrs. Wendell C. Hall attended the State Fair in Salt Lake City. They also attended the Ice Follies at the Salt Palace that night. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Morris were guests at the wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs. Kirt Shumway at Rexburg, Idaho Friday. Later that evening, they attended the viewing at the Larkin Mortuary for Mrs. Mabel Copen. Last Monday Mr. and Mrs. Gardner Udy visited Genevieve Jensen at Brigham City. Saturday afternoon they enjoyed dinner at the Loft House in Logan where Jane's brother, William (Bill) Hess of Hyde Park treated them and the rest of his brothers and sisters and their partners to dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Lamb, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Ray Udy drove out to Pocatello Valley Sunday. Mrs. Wanda Lloyd of Salt Lake City left Sunday after spending a week with her mother, Mrs. Kate Mason. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Lamb treated Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Petersen to a lovely dinner Friday evening at Mr. B's. The occasion was the Petersen's wedding versary. Mrs. Ethel Rudd, ompanied Mr. and-Mrs- anniacc. Rulon Rudd to Layton Sunday afternoon to visit Mrs. Clifford (Ruth) Rudd at the Layton Hospital where Ruth had undergone surgery last Thursday. Mrs. Elaine Hoesch and son, returned Branden, home Thursday after spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Art Hoesch at Sandy. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Whiting enjoyed dinner at the Idle Isle in Brigham City Meeting here7"u,vl David P. Last Friday Gibbs was released from the Logan Hospital following leg surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs went to Kaysville with their son, Donald, where they spent the week. They returned home. Friday and it is good to report Mr. Gibbs is in good condition. Sunday evening their son, Noel Gibbs, of Monroe came to visit them for a few days. Friday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Glen Morris went to Woods Cross and visited Mr. and Mrs. Kent Johnston and son, Ken. and attended a football game in the interest of Ken. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Craig Morris and family of Ogden. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wynn John were Mrs. Esther John and Mrs. Leona Williams of Malad, Mr. and Mrs. Jeddie Ricks of Benson and Marlene John of Logan, in the interest of J. Neal John who just returned from Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Williams of Logan visited Mr. and Mrs. Wynn John and family Monday evening. Several attended the viewing and funeral for Lenard Hughes in Malad Monday evening and Tuesday.
