Thorson, 79, of Brigham City, died at his home of a heart attack, Wednesday, August 23, 1977. He was born March 2, 1898, in Bear River City, the son of Hans Peter and Sine Christ-ense- n Thorson. He married Roma Hoist, August 16, 1922, in Brigham City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He had formerly lived in Bear River City and Deweyville. He graduated from Box Elder High School and attended USU in Logan. He served in the Bishopric in the Deweyville LDS Ward, president of the Bear River City YMMIA, served on the Box Elder Stake High Council. He served on the Town Board in Deweyville, was Morris F. Rhodes, 75, of Garland died Saturday, Aug. 27, 1977, in the Logan Hos- pital of complications following heart surgery. Mr. Rhodes was born Nov. 4, 1901, in Lehi, Utah, a son of Marcellus Amanda and Hodge Rhodes. He was married to Lucre-ti- a Olsen on Oct. 5, 1929,' in Evanston, Wyo. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on April 27, 1951. He was a painter in the area for about 45 years. He had lived in E. Garland , and Tremonton, moving to Garland in 1933. He was a high priest in the Garland 1st Ward and served as a home teacher. He was a former home teacher supervisor. Surviving are his widow of Garland; one son, Robert M. Rhodes, Perry; one daughter, Mrs. Marcus (LaRee) Lee, Garland; six grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Iris Evans, Mrs. Norma Smith, both of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Roy Garland-Tremonto- n (Hilma) Quinet, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Homer (June) Marble, Deweyville. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday in the Garland Tabernacle with Bishop's Counselor Boyd Munns officiating. Survivors also include one brother and three sisters, Roy Thorson, Bear River City ; Evelyn McNeil Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Deloris Carruth, Fresno, Calif, and Mrs. Edna Atchley, Boise, Idaho. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 1 p m in the 6th - 11th LDS Ward Chapel in Brigham City. Interment was in the Brigham City Cemetery. Dean E. Grover, 65, of 1048 Cross Street, Ogden, died Saturday, August 27, in an Ogden hospital of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. He was born April 1, 1912 in East Garland, Utah, a son of Lafayette and Ellen Parkinson Grover. On November 28, 1935 he married Ruth Turner in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was raised in East Garland, graduated from Bear River High School and Utah State University. He then taught at the North Summit High School for four years; he then taught for 35 years in Ogden City schools. The last 18 years he spent teaching at Lomond High School where he taught speech, English and dramatics. He was a member of the Ogden 47th LDS Ward where he had been a high priest, former president of the Sunday School, president of the Ben ANNUAL A Garland man received leg injuries, cuts and abrasions in a truck semi accident early Wednesday morning at the intersection one mile north of the Crossroads. William Merrill, 762 South d Main, Garland was into north-sout- h highway 191 when he collided with a semi towing a back hoe heading north. Merrill was taken to the Logan Hospital for treatment following the mishap. The northbound truck was driven by Roger Wayne Jensen, Salt Lake City. He was married and later divorced. He served 17 years in the Army. In 1939 he served in St. Joseph, Mo., Ft. Leven-wort- h and Leonard Wood. He was a veteran of WW II and Korea. Main, died Sunday, August 28, 1977, at the Bear River Valley Hospital in Tremonton of a stroke. Mrs. Munns was born Sept. 17, 1894, in Plymouth, Utah, a daughter of Thomas and Rowane Moon Udy. She was married to Frank W. Munns on Feb. 14, 1917, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Munns died May 30, 1965. She had served as a captain of Daughters of Utah Pioneers and as president of the Ladies Self Culture Club. She was a member of the LDS Church and served as a teacher in the Primary, Sunday School and Relief Society. Surviving are three sons and two daughters, Frank Gene Munns, Eldon T. Munns, Boyd W.
