Mr. and Mrs. James Wood and Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Westergard joined with us Monday morning for the early breakfast that was served by the ward. Houseguests of the Earl Woodses this week are the Woods' grandsons, Ethan and Travis Wood, Kenosha, Wise. The children are here while their mother is busy Their father, Larry Wood, has accepted a job teaching at the Brigham Young University. They will be moving to Provo in August. Needless to say, Earl and I are really happy and excited to have them home again. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Sorensen accompanied Patriarch and Mrs. James White and President and Mrs. Petersen to Preston, Ida. Friday evening where they were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Valdo Benson, the Regional Representative. Also in attendance By Jeny Wood The Fourth of July celebration here got off with a g cerebang. The mony and speches were held at 7:30 a.m. and many various activities took place throughout the day. One of interest was the cake auction. The ladies donate beautifully decorated cakes for this event. The money is used for next year's festivities. Marie Payne's cake, which was awarded first prize, was bought by her husband, Dennis, for sixty-on- e dollars. Some of the folks here took advantage of the long weekend to vacation elsewhere. Mr. and Mrs. Vyrl Nessen and Mr. and Mrs. Terry Hess spent the weekend in Elko where they attended the Basque Celebration. Mr. and Mrs. Merlyn Jackson went tripping up to Helena, Mont, for the holiday. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Soren-se- h and Mr. and Mrs. Barry Sorensen and family visited in Bountiful Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Marshal Brown of Montgomery, Ala. Barry became acquainted with Mrs. Brown while on his mission in that area. Mr. and Mrs. Devere Harris and daughter, Lori, hosted a holiday weekend at their summer home in Liberty. They attended church at the Liberty Ward. Blodwin Sorensen and her Julie, attgranddaughter, ended church in Smithfield Sunday where they were present for the blessing of Blodwin's great grandchild. It's a boy and he was given the name of Dirk Shane. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Sorensen. This makes 46 Oyler. Mr. and Mrs. James Nessen spent the weekend with their son, Monte and family and with Mr. and Mrs. Marceal Olsen, American Fork. Mrs. Eva Bair accompanied them. Mrs. Don Larsen and daughter of Livermore, Calif, have been visiting here with the Louis Douglases for several days. They also had great for grandchildren Blodwin. He was given the name Adam Wade Coburn. Mr. and Mrs. Coburn and children, Eric, Kristin and baby Adam are here vacationing at the home of Mrs. Coburn's (Dianne) parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Cornwall. Sunday dinner guests at the Cornwall home on this special occasion included Mrs. Elmo Coburn, Steven Coburn, both of Idaho Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Capen-e- r of Riverside, Mr. and Mrs. Chan Cornwall of Elwood, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Cornwall of Logan and Mr. andMrs. overnight guest of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell C. Hall was their son, Raymond, who was enroute home in Cedar City after a week's business trip to Nebraska and Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hall of Brigham City visited Mr. and Mrs. Ora John. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph C. Morris and son, Vaughan, attended sacrament meeting in Hansel Valley Sunday, where Mr. Morris blessed his granddaughter, Melissa. The little one is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thayne Hupp. Other family members enjoying the special event were Mr. and Mrs. James Yarnan and family of Clearfield, Mr. and Mrs. Don Thorson and girls of Brigham City, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Morris and children of Garland. They all enjoyed dinner at the Hupp home following the event. Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Clark and son, Ronald, accompanied by the following members of their family, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Clark and family of Garland, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Kofford and sons of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. were the Garland Stake Burke Nielson and family of Riverside. July 1 and 2, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Cornwall and family attended the Cornwall family reunion at Early Park. Sixty-thre- e family members were in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Burnett attended Mrs. Burnclass ett's (Nancy) five-yereunion Saturday evening at the LDS Girls Camp in Logan Canyon. After the reunion the Burnetts enjoyed a weekend of travel. They spent Saturday evening in Salt Lake City, traveled to Wend-oveNev. on Sunday and returned to Sundance on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Brent had their newborn daughter blessed Sunday in the Belmont Ward. She was r, Mac-farla- City. They enjoyed dinner Smithfield and a day visiting. RON'S SWIM SCHOOL Peterson Mr. and Mrs. Carl Starr returned home Saturday evvacaening after a nine-da-y tion through parts of Kansas, the Dakotas, Nebraska, -visiting the Black Hills and Mt. Rushmore, and returning home by way of Yellowstone Park through Cody, Wyo. and the Rexburg flood site. Upon getting home they discovered that their grand- Clark family reunion which was held at the second ward park in Malad Sunday. Fifty-tw- o family members gathered to enjoy the day together. Monday Mrs. Thelma Gibbs, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Gibbs and family and Mr. and Mrs. Sherman W. Gibbs and family of San Diego attended the parade in Malad then went to Power House Canyon where they enjoyed a picnic dinner and hiked together. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ward of Idaho Falls spent Saturday and Sunday with Mrs. Ward's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Conley. The Conley's private nurse, Miss Louise Stringham, spent the holiday weekend with her parents in Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell C. Hall visited Mr. and Mrs. Landy Norris and Mr. and Mrs. Don Bowen and family in Ogden Sunday. Mrs. Wynn John and girls, Mary Ann, Melanie and Julie, went to Salt Lake Friday and picked up Jeff Williams who had been to New York k on a church history tour with the Seminary group from Henderson, Nev. daughter, Loretta Chudy (daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Chudy of Tacoma, Wash, had arrived to spend a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Bell and children attended a dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Bell at Portage Sunday in honor of Miss Janice Bell's birthday anniversary. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Grant Bell of Ogden. Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Steed Estep were Mr. and Mrs. Grady Weeks and family of Syracuse, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Owen, son, Shawn, and daughter, Tauni, spent Sunday and Monday camping and fishing at Devil's Creek Reservoir in Idaho. Spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Hess, are Mr. and Mrs. Ron Hess of Anaheim, Calif. Ron is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Orland Hess. Mrs. Max (Phyliss) Kunz-le- r and sons, Kerry and Kelly, of Park Valley, and Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Udy and daughter, Stephanie of Tremonton, visited Mr. and Mrs. Gardner Udy, Saturday. Brett Lamb returned home Wednesday after spending eleven days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Petersen. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jed Lamb and lives at Richmond.
