Kerr as the driver and enjoyed visiting the DUP Museum, The Carriage House, Historical Society Building and other points of interest. They had luncheon at the cafeteria at the Capitol. Miss Christensen is the daughter of Mrs. Ellen Christensen and the late Oscar Christensen of Both well. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Wayment of Warren, Utah. The couple will be honored at a reception and dance in the Bothwell ward cultural hall from 7 to 9:30 p.m. the evening of the wedding. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. Miss Christensen is a graduate of Bear River High School and LDS Seminary. She attended Steven Henag-e- r Business College in Ogden. Mr. Wayment is a graduate of Weber High School and LDS Seminary. He is attending Weber State College where he is a member of the rodeo team. LIEAOER League Installs Xhe New Officers (5)figETf The Tremonton Women's Civic League met Thursday afternoon at the fairgrounds for their "last roundup" and installation luncheon with President Evelyn Borup conducting. The horse museum was the scene for a very fitting western theme with red scarves tied on each of the ladies. Flavio Cevar, an exchange student from Brazil, talked to the group about his country and his year here as an exchange student. He expressed the desire to have an exchange student from the Tremonton area. The League was favored with several musical numbers from a group of students of Jean Stokes. The group consisted of Chris Cannon, Sandy Anderson, Greg Johnson and Wendy and Jim Hess. The time was turned over to Mildred Harris, Northern District Treasurer, who installed the officers for the coming year - Jean Crump, president; Judy Borcherd ing, vice president; Van Sweden, secretary; n, treasurer and Mary Elhistorian and Bette Garfield, music director. ko Giles, A lovely luncheon was served by the social committee. Evelyn Borup, Jean Crump, Judy Borcherding, Arline Parker, ReNae and Nell Puzy. While we were eating lunch, reports were given by ladies who attended the State Women's Federated Club Convention held at Provo. Those who attended were Mildred Shumway, Fanny Fridal, Evelyn Borup, Jean Crump. Nell Puzy, Ethel Firth, Judy Borcherding, Vernel Morrison and Mattie Callister. The highlight of the convention was when1 Mildred Shumway was named State Club Woman of the Year. She was given this award by the Salt Lake Tribune. Club was adjourned until next fall. Simada Banquet All chapters of the Simada Study Club held their annual Spring Banquet at the Hillary House in Ogden Friday evening with the Lambda Chapter of Ogden as hostess. Mickey Ensminger acted as the emcee and welcomed members of all chapters. Tables were attractively decorated in keeping with the theme, "America the Beautiful" and special favors were at each setting. A delicious buffet luncheon was enjoyed. The Lambda Chapter had prepared the program which consisted of musical and variety numbers. Those participating were in costume to represent different areas. Grace Hales, Glena Hales, Mildred Harris, Vernell Morrison, Katheryne Ness-o- n, Marilyn Johnson, Leone Finch, Erma Summers and Ruby Scholar attended from the Tremonton Beta Chap- The Tremonton-Garlan- d Literary Club was entertained Wednesday evening at the lovely new home of Mrs. Mary Waldron. A very interesting review of the book, "The Man Who Moved a Mountain," by Richard C. Davids was given by Mrs. Erma Summers. This is a fascinating biography, a moving portrait of a life that transformed a wild and rough mountain folk. It is exciting, surprising and true. Following the review, new officers for the coming year were elected as follows: Vesta Ferry, president; Mrs. Erma Summers, vice Mrs. Marguerite Rich, historian-reporte- r and Mrs. Nona Rhead, chairman of the literary committee with Mrs. Fern new member of this committee.
