In charge of the evening's entertainment were Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Welling, Mr. and Mrs. Darvel Gam, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Gam, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Anderson. A planned potluck supper was enjoyed. A pro- gram was presented by Ray Dives and Connie Badge of Malad who sang western numbers, . accompanying themselves on their guitars. Approximately 50 attended. Kirk and Rona Shepherd Wood of Roosevelt are happy over the arrival of a baby girl born Nov. 16. They have a small son, Ryan, at home. Grandparents are Mrs. Velda Wood of Fielding, Mr. and Mrs. Delwyn Shepherd of Levan. Great grandparents are Frank Pulver underwent major surgery at the Logan Hospit- al on Thursday. Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anger on Thanksgiving were Mr, and Mrs. Darold Simmons and AFS ljyi VVarcj Saturday. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. C. LaRon Mason and two daughters of Granger. e Dinner guests of Mrs. Sutherland on Thanksgiving Day were Mr. and Mrs. Kent Sutherland and four sons, of Ogden. Mr, and Mrs. John A. Bourne and family, Mrs. Keith Coombs and family, along with Mr. and Mrs. Alan Godfrey and baby and Mr. and Mrs. Alan Bourne of Garland, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Orme and family of Riverside, Mr. and Mrs. Odean Estep and family of Plymouth, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Estep and baby of Corinne, Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Hill and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Hill and family of Tremonton visited Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Hill in Tremonton. The occasion was Mrs. Hill's birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Anderson are spending the Thank- ,Chirja MILLER'S sgiving holidays visiting and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Rytting and family in Santa Rosa, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Potter attended funeral services for Mrs. Potter's grandfather, August V. Dorigatti, held in the Hyrum 5th Ward Chapel on Saturday. Burial was in the Hyrum City cemetery. Enjoying a Thanksgiving turkey dinner with all the trimmings at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Udy were Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Godfrey of Clarkston, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Tarbet and son, Canon, Mr. and Mrs. Don Tarbet of Smithfield, Miss Merriett Tarbet of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Tarbet of Hunt, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Dee Tarbet of Wendell, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Rick Kent and two daughters and Miss Ilene Udy of Fielding. Last Sunday Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Welling enjoyed dinner with Mrs. Welling's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Nicholas and family in Harper Ward. Other guests were Mrs. Welling's brother-in-laand sister, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Jensen and three sons of Las Vegas. Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Rex Richards accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Eli (Carol) Anderson of Bothwell and Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Nicholas of Ogden, visited Mrs. Richards' aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Crittenden in Hoytsville. They later enjoyed dinner at a down- town restaurant in Ogden. Spending the Thanksgiving holidays at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Gam were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gam of Issaquah, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. F. Leo Nye and family of Issaquah spent the Thanksgiving holidays with Mrs. Nye's brother-in-laand sister, Mr. and Mrs. P. R. Peterson and family. A dinner was held at the Peterson home Thanksgiving Day. Other guests in addition to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gam and Mr. and Mrs. F. Leo Nye and family were Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Nye and baby of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Baird and family of Brigham City, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Lewis and family, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Gam and Jack Peterson. Mrs. Ross Wood, accompanied by her granddaughter, Mrs. Ann Behling and son, Aubrey, of Provo spent last week as houseguests of Mrs. Wood's and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. Jay Risenmay and family in Rexburg. While there they attended Sacrament Meeting where the small son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Sutherland was blessed by his father and given the name of Elliott Bruce Sutherland. They also attended a Miss Madison Junior Miss Pageant. Mrs. Charles (LaJuana) family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anger and family of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Gail Anger and family of Bountiful, Mr. and Mrs. DeVerl Anger and family of Fielding, Mrs. Linda Westley and two daughters of Brigham City, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Holman of Clearfield. Mrs. Vadis Gilgen of ad has been spending a few days with her sister, Mrs. Sara Moss. Miss Debra Welling of Pima, Ariz, spent the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gale Welling and family. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gam and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gam attended a Stake Road Show in Sunset Tuesday evening. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Claine Smith of Tremonton. The occasion was Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Smith's wedding anniversary. Steven Welling is recuperating at home following major surgery in the Bear River Valley Hospital in Tremonton. Patriarch and Mrs. Leo Earl of Logan spent a few days of last week visiting Mr. and Mrs. Verl Anderson. Patriarch Earl is recuperating following eye surgery in the University Medical Center in Salt Lake City. His son, Sherman Earl, accompanied him to Salt Lake City Thursday for a check-up- . The AFS is a national program enabling students from abroad to attend Bear River and Bear River students to attend schools throughout the United States or in foreign countries. The students may stay for two weeks, two quarters, or a full school year. The AFS is designed to help finance these students. Flavio Cezar, a student from Brazil, is presently attend ing Bear River. The club will be headed by the student council and advised by Mr. Meyers. In order for a student to apply for the AFS Program, both he and his parents must fill out applications. The AFS Student will receive free books and materials and also room and board. The student council raffled off a turkey, donated by Deloris Stokes, Wednesday at the Thanksgiving assembly to help get the club started.
