He was a son of W E. and Olive ilaws Hall. Mr. Hall was formerly of Elwood, attended grade school there and graduated from Bear River high school in 1941 where he was active in band and orchestra. He graduated from Utah State University in 1948 where he majored in music. He was the youngest member of the old Hall orchestra. Mr. Hall spent two years in the Air Force. He coached and taught school in Marsh Valley, Idaho, and was a baseball coach and science teacher in Mesa, Arizona, for 21 years. He was active in the LDS church. He married Wilma Harrison of McCann, Idaho. Survivors are his widow of Mesa, two sons and three daughters, Steven, Jerry, Sharon, Sandy and Debbie all of Mesa. Survivors also include brothers and sisters: Elmer W. Hall, Garland; Olive Vica Germer, both of Clearfield; Myrtle Tayson and Dean G. Hall of Mesa. Funeral services will be .held Friday, May 28, in the Mesa 17 LDS Ward chapel. d, KIM CHRISTINE HAWS Kim Christine Hawes, two day old infant daughter of Ronnie Edmond and Kim Hawes, died in Columbia, South Carolina, of complications following birth. Graveside services will be conducted Friday in the Plymouth Cemetery at 1 p.m. Friends may call at Rogers Mortuary in Tremontpn Friday from 12 noon to 12:30 p.m. Surviving are the parents of Columbia, South Carolina and one brother Ronnie Thomas Hawes. Grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hawes of Tremonton. Ccrd Of Chrestena Tressie Mis. Neal Steed, 72, of Garland died at her home Thursday of a heart attack. She was born Oct. 30, 1903, in Stone, Idaho, a daughter of Fredrick Charles and Andrea Chrestena Daley Neal. She married Vernon Job Steed on March 15i 1922, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Stone and St. John's, Idaho, before moving to Garland in 1966. She was reared and educated in Stone, Idaho, and Box Elder County. She was a member of the Garland 2nd LDS Ward and had served as Primary treasurer and play leader, a member of the Primary presidency, chorister and Primary teacher. She had received her Primary service teacher. Surviving are her husband Garland; three sons and Dee Vern five daughters, Steed, Smithfield; Karl Neal Steed, Snowville; Lyle J. Steed and Mrs. Wayne (Linda) S. Carter, both of Stone, Idaho; Mrs. Miles (Nola) Thompson and Mrs. Mac (Eva Lou) Laub, both Mrs. of Tremonton) Edward (Elaine) Chadwick, Ogden, and Mrs. Andrew (Darlene) Funk, Garland) 39 grandchildren) 20 great grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers and two sisters, Clifford Neal, Snowville; Howard Neal, Malad, Idaho; Merle Neal, Stone, Idaho; Dwayne Neal, Ogden; Mrs. Ed (Ada) Pratt, Boise, Idaho, and Mrs. Narman (Ella) Talbot, St. George. of 1 great-grandso- and Es-eve- ry thoughtful act. He cited local concerns with federal government such as education. "They're telling us clear from Washington DC. down to the county level what we can teach and what we can't," he declared. "1 think we've got to get the federal government clear out of education. ..if we don't we're headed for trouble." Barfuss will oppose Democrat Garland l'uzey and incumbent Republican Ed Kerr in the November election. Another reason for entering the race, !'.,'i1uss said, is because he doesn't want to leave a world "controlled by Communism ai d conspirators" for his children and grandchildren. "I believe that if enough honest people w ill stand up and speak out we can slowly but surely, by starting at the county and stale levels begin to solve our many problems and get all federal government out of our lives," he said. He feels stales and private companies should be allowed to administer welfare and the Social Security system. The couple have six children, three of whom are married. He owns and acts of kindness expressed their sympathy and friendship at the time of the death of our beloved wife and mother. Thank you so very much for each and every thoughtful act. JMcGuiru Steffen, 73, of Tremonton died Friday at the McKay-De- e Hospital in Ogden of complications following surgery. She was born Nov. IW)2. in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Alva D. and Elizabeth Jane Norris McGuire. She married Conrad K. Steffen on Nov. 1, 1921, in Salt Lake City. She was reared and educated in Salt Lake City and Box Elder County. She was a member of the Gold Star .Mothers. A member of the Tremonton 1st LDS Ward, she had served as Relief Society work director and visiting teacher. She was also active in vocal and music presentation. Surviving are her husband of Tremonton;' one L. Steffen, Las Vegas, Nev.; five grandchildren; one four brothers, Herbert McGuire award.
